The Little Mermaid Decides to Find a Husband

Jianzhu is a little prince of the merfolk, a people who live in isolation from the rest of the world.

One day, he finds an exceptionally handsome man on the island shore. A hopeless face-lover, Jianzhu falls in love at first sight and happily brings him home to be his husband.

As the little prince of the merfolk kingdom, he knows he must treat his other half well.

When his husband is badly injured, he makes medicinal powder from little pearls to treat him.

When his husband doesn't like to smile, Jianzhu sings to cheer him up.

When his husband doesn't like him...

Jianzhu gives himself a pep talk. It's okay. As long as he keeps treating his husband well, one day his husband will like him!

Then one day, the merfolk, who have always lived apart from the outside world, find themselves surrounded by the continent's fleets. Soldiers land on their ancient island in great numbers. An assembly of officers and soldiers comes to welcome their ruler home: the husband Jianzhu brought back himself.

Lu Chengjiang stands before the crowd, looking down at them. "I was fortunate to receive your people's care when I was badly injured. Now, tell me what you want, and I can grant it."

When Jianzhu looks at Lu Chengjiang, the man's gaze is so unfamiliar it frightens him.

After the fleet leaves, the merfolk return to their quiet lives. Just as Jianzhu has given up hope completely, he suddenly realizes he might be pregnant.

The little mermaid is a bit afraid. Though he has long since given up on his husband, the baby is innocent. If his father and the others find out he's carrying the child of the continental royal family, they'll never let the baby be born.

To keep the baby alive, the little prince of the merfolk sets out for the continent alone.

Among the wealthy nobles of the Western fantasy continent, word spreads that a beautiful shopkeeper has opened a jewelry store on North Street. His voice is as smooth and clear as pearls, like heavenly spring water that washes away people's troubles. The pastries and food he makes are delicate and delicious, and the jewelry and accessories he sells are exquisitely crafted, beyond belief.

Countless people come from far and wide, hoping to win the beauty's favor.

Faced with inquiries from all sides, Jianzhu can only smile and say, "Sorry, I'm already married. My husband passed away a long time ago, and now I only want to raise my child well. I have no other intentions."

Everyone laments his misfortune.

Then one afternoon, a tall man walks into the shop. Looking at Jianzhu's astonished eyes, he says, "I heard you've been telling everyone I'm dead?"
