I Transmigrated into a Book as the Villain and Became the Male Lead's Dad

Good news: Teng Zhiyun has transmigrated into a book. Bad news: He's become a villainous cannon fodder character with only two lines.

Looking at his pitifully small role, Teng Zhiyun decides there's still a chance to save it. He finds ways to give himself more scenes, taking advantage of the male lead when he's grieving his parents' deaths and forcing him to become his godson. Just like that, the cannon fodder villain becomes the male lead's father. He gets twice as much screen time and the carefree life he's always dreamed of.

When the boy is young:

The male lead sees candied hawthorn and stares at it, swallowing hungrily.

Teng Zhiyun: Call me Dad, and I'll buy you some.

Male lead: Dad.

The male lead sees a toy he likes and gazes at it longingly.

Teng Zhiyun: Call me Dad, and I'll buy it for you.

Male lead: Dad.

When he's grown up:

The male lead meets the female lead and stares at her, entranced.

Teng Zhiyun: Call me Dad, and I'll go ask for her hand for you.

The male lead rolls his eyes and turns to leave.

Teng Zhiyun ignores him, crying so hard that snot runs down his face. "I raised you from a helpless little baby..."

The male lead turns around helplessly. "I'll give you another hundred taels a month in pocket money."

Teng Zhiyun haggles. "A thousand taels."

The male lead raises an eyebrow. "Five hundred, tops."

Teng Zhiyun beams. "Deal!"

Later, Teng Zhiyun is drugged with an aphrodisiac and sleeps with the male lead. Afterward, the male lead's eyes are red, and he looks weak, helpless, and pitiful.

Teng Zhiyun: I'll take responsibility for you.

Later still, Teng Zhiyun learns that the male lead was the one who drugged him, and goes to confront him.

The male lead blinks innocently. "I only did it once. After that, you were the one who wanted me so many times. Every time, you..."

Teng Zhiyun hurriedly covers the male lead's mouth. "How can you say that out loud?"

Theme: Take control of your own fate instead of blaming the heavens and everyone else.
