When I Bound Myself to a Roleplay Rescue System

After Fengyuan died, he was bound to something that called itself a Wish System.

The System told him to travel to various worlds and play characters who had died, but whom countless people wished could come back to life. Once he met the requirements, he would be resurrected.

It sounded like a hassle, but Fengyuan had a reason he had to come back to life.

So he agreed.

It seemed a ghost no one could see had appeared in Yokohama.

The ghost wrote and published books, and occasionally happened to rescue the still-immature children with special abilities. But no one knew who he was.

Only Dazai Osamu of the detective agency seemed unusually fixated on him.

-

Lately, Rei Furuya had noticed that someone was secretly providing just the right help during his missions.

As an undercover agent, he was extremely sensitive to anything that deviated from the plan. Even if this person was helping him, someone whose identity and loyalties were unknown, yet who knew all his movements, posed a greater threat than an advantage.

He became more vigilant and began investigating who the person was.

-

A year after Suguru Geto's death, Satoru Gojo heard people around him say countless times that Geto had reappeared.

Every time, all he saw was a retreating figure, and every time it vanished in an instant.

Like a wandering ghost, he thought.

Even after trying again and again, he was still the only one who never saw the scene he had heard about so many times. In the end, Gojo gave up and treated it as nothing more than a legend.

Even if he really saw a living, breathing Geto one day, he would probably just greet him calmly. Gojo said this with weary resignation.

-

The System hesitated. "Actually, all you need to do is provide a plausible resurrection scenario."

Fengyuan caught a falling leaf, his smile faint.

"But they were living, breathing people," he said. "There are people who care about them, and they still care about this world."

"At the very least, I hope they can welcome their new lives in peace."

Reader's Guide:

1. The protagonist is Kazuha's friend. Since there probably won't be any Genshin Impact-related plot, I haven't tagged it.

2. I wanted to write a straightforward fix-it story because it's simply what I like. The goal is a happy ending for everyone.

3. I'll add more if I think of anything.
