Ever since Venti found two swords at Windrise, his life had changed beyond recognition.
Unexpected work came crashing down on him like Newton's apple, threatening to ruin his happy daily routine. He clutched his Dandelion Wine warily and tried to turn them down: "Kidnapping minors is against the law, you know!"
The two Inazuman swords across from him paid no attention.
The tachi smiled like a senile old man, while the uchigatana blinked its bright, sparkling eyes.
Seeing Venti wait hopefully for a response, Mikazuki Munechika thought for a moment, then changed the subject. "If our master is underage, he shouldn't be drinking, should he?"
Venti: That's not what I meant!
After failing to get the better of them in a brief exchange, Venti decided he had better run. One side searched everywhere for a way to escape, while the other shamelessly kept chasing him.
One person and two swords dashed up Starsnatch Cliff and across Cider Lake, all the way to the ruined tower. The blue-eyed boy looked back on the wind, but his two little tails were still trailing behind him.
There was no escape. This was the end. The bard's pitiful wails rang through Stormterror's Lair.
"Save me, Dvalin! I don't want to work!"

Venti didn't want to accept the position, but he didn't refuse to let them follow him, either.
After learning how dangerous this continent was, Heshikiri Hasebe fretted. "My lord, though we are but minor gods, we should still be able to keep you safe. Please don't leave us behind again..."
Venti only smiled. The blond Traveler beside him gave him a strange look and covered the mouth of the little white fairy at his side.
Mikazuki Munechika glanced over suspiciously, but saw nothing amiss.
It wasn't until later that he sighed, realizing what truth he had missed back then.
*
At first, the swords only wanted to keep the person who had awakened them close, drawn to them by instinctive affection.
Only later did they discover that the boy they hoped to honor as their Saniwa...
Might actually be a true god?!
Venti: Ehehe.
"Perhaps my wish is to protect Mondstadt, so that everyone who chooses to stay here can be free to make their own choices."
"May the Anemo Archon bless you."
A few rambling thoughts:
I saw the new story and immediately added this line. That's how a Venti fan starts frantically revising the outline, terrified of failing to show just how wonderful he is, and frets in circles.
Lord Barbatos, I've always believed in your existence! (shouting)
I'm working on the draft!
