Caloville was an evil dragon. To pursue the love of his life, whom he'd fallen for at first sight, he disguised himself as a holy knight and joined the hero's party on its quest to defeat the Demon King.
His frail, sickly sweetheart was the party's only priest, Lancelde: gentle, kind, sentimental, and compassionate toward all...
At night, he often couldn't sleep because he was so upset about the Demon King's misdeeds.
Caloville, who had fallen head over heels all by himself, immediately flew into a rage and went to the Abyss to impale the Demon King.
Only afterward did he realize that if the hero's party disbanded, he would have no reason to stay with Lancelde.
So he was forced to take over the Demon Realm and, following the former Demon King's ways, sabotage the hero's party...
But the former Demon King had always kept up appearances and never showed himself in public, communicating with his subordinates only in writing.
The evil dragon, who couldn't read demon script: ...
What a pain! He had no choice but to secretly study while his sweetheart slept.

Lancelde had been troubled lately. His boss, the Demon King, had sent him some bizarre letters from the Abyss.
But aside from his own name, he couldn't read a single word... It was driving him so crazy he couldn't sleep at night.
Lancelde was a fallen angel who had fallen because he was too lazy.
Thanks to his deceptively angelic appearance and his ability to tolerate sunlight, he had been assigned a mission:
Infiltrate the hero's party as its priest and betray them at a crucial moment.
Forced to join the hero's party, Lancelde began a journey full of naps.
Unexpectedly, he found himself with a silly, sunny, passionate sweetheart who always stood in front of him, taking the lead when it came to fighting monsters.
So he had to defy his lazy nature, pick up healing and defensive magic, and work hard to keep his sweetheart from getting hurt.
The hero and mage, who used to have to drink healing potions themselves: So our priest really can use healing magic...

The party's holy knight and priest were suddenly full of energy, one tanking the hits while the other healed.
The hero's party made lightning-fast progress and soon reached the Demon King's lair.
The hero and mage were already in tears, popping champagne early and preparing for a farewell dinner.
Only then did Caloville and Lancelde realize something was wrong: Oh no, our secret identities are about to be exposed...
I don't want to break up!

What kind of hero's party has two spies in it?
I killed his boss just so I could happily cuddle up to my wife.
The boss fight is coming up. How do I keep my secret identity under wraps?
*
Evil dragon/fallen angel: Honey, I really do believe in the Light!
*
Some letters from the Abyss:
[Don't hurt Lancelde]
[Protect Lancelde]
[Love Lancelde]

It's still a slice-of-life fluffy comedy, with bickering and mutual pampering throughout. They go from mutual secret crushes to openly in love.
The former Demon King is the only one who gets hurt in the whole story.
Theme: Believe in the Light, even in the Abyss
