Uke's perspective: As a low-level employee in the Intelligence Bureau, Wen Yanchu lives a carefree life. The thing he thinks about most every day is how to leave this small world and go home. But one day, the people of this small world learn that outsiders exist, and his peaceful life is gone for good.

The lofty Lord demands that he complete a mission. To stay alive, he enters the dueling arena. He thinks it's an ordinary mission, but the moment he learns the truth, he steps into an abyss.

The Demon Lord who helps him every step of the way is actually thinking of killing him at every moment. The boy he happens to save leaves not even a skeleton behind. The little one he raises because of a muddled timeline grows into an ungrateful wolf. Exploitation and betrayal permeate every relationship.

In the end, in the pouring rain, he makes his choice: they will never see each other again.

But he doesn't know that the ungrateful wolf has already bared its fangs.

Imprisonment, coercion. The child he raised hates him, loves him, wants to kill him, and bites the back of his neck as he repeats his hatred again and again.

In the end, they sacrifice themselves together.

After witnessing the outcome of his plan with his own eyes, Wen Yanchu says one last thing before leaving: "We follow different paths."

Violence surges through Pei Buzhi once more. If their paths are different, then Wen Yanchu can stay by his side and watch his path, step by step. He will never be allowed to leave. Never.
