After His Luck Was Stolen, He Awakened

The first half of Yun Jixue's life was that of a beloved prodigy.

He had an older brother who doted on him, was accepted into the greatest sect, and was betrothed to the noble and radiant Immortal Lord Jiuyu.

That all changed when Shen Lianyu joined their sect.

The senior brother who had always cared for Yun Jixue began to shower the new junior disciple with even more attention and affection.

Immortal Lord Jiuyu also took a great interest in Shen Lianyu.

Shen Lianyu even produced a jade pendant left behind by Yun Jixue's mother, claiming it proved that he was Sect Master Yun's youngest son, and that Yun Jixue was a demon who had stolen his identity.

With war between immortals and demons imminent, Yun Jixue was confirmed to be a demon and locked in a dungeon, where he endured endless torment.

After learning of Shen Lianyu's plot with the demons, Yun Jixue exhausted his spiritual power to escape the dungeon. He wanted to expose the plot and save the friends and family who had once been dear to him. But his older brother ran him through the chest with a sword, while his fiance, Immortal Lord Jiuyu, used a Heaven-Piercing Talisman to seal him beneath the boundary stele along with the demons.

Sealed beneath the Heaven-Piercing Talisman, he finally learned that Shen Lianyu had come from another world and used his knowledge of the future to steal Yun Jixue's fortune and identity.

Three hundred years later, a fortuitous encounter allowed a wisp of Yun Jixue's soul to drift out from beneath the boundary stele.

After wandering the human world for years and seeing flowers bloom across the mountains, he had almost forgotten everything that had happened in the immortal sects when Jiuyu came looking for him again.

They all looked remorseful and said they had uncovered the truth: Shen Lianyu was the one who had colluded with the demons.

They blamed themselves for believing Shen Lianyu's lies and causing Yun Jixue's death.

They hoped Yun Jixue would return to the sect, promising they would make it up to him.

But the little fox in Yun Jixue's arms suddenly bristled, leaped up, and transformed into a young man, sword raised against them. "If anyone wants to take my brother away, they'll have to face my sword first."
