Stepmother

Blurb: (young general × frail adoptive mother)

Zhao Lan was taken as a concubine by Huo Xun and had been with him for half a year.

He treated her poorly. In bed, he was rough and forceful, and whenever he was angry, he took it out on her.

That day, General Huo kicked her out of the tent with her clothes in disarray. The soldiers, most of whom hadn't touched a woman in years, stared greedily at her body like wolves.

Terrified and helpless, she curled into a ball, her face streaked with tears. She clutched her tattered clothes, trying in vain to cover herself.

She thought she'd have to spend another miserable night outside the tent. Then a black cloak was draped over her. The warmth of a strange man wrapped around her trembling body, covering her completely.

A hand reached out before Zhao Lan. Its fingers were long and knuckly, and the spots where it gripped a sword were covered in calluses.

She looked up. A young, handsome soldier stood before her.

He said, "Mother, can you move? If you can, hold on to my arm. I'll help you up."

Only then did Zhao Lan realize this man was the adopted son General Huo often spoke of: Huo Zheng, the young general who had led ten thousand soldiers to drive back eighty thousand Hu warriors.

.

At his first sight of his adoptive mother, Huo Zheng thought this woman, five years older than him, was truly pitiful.

At his second sight of her, he thought she was resilient as a reed.

Later, Huo Zheng grew fond of her soft voice, her pale, smooth cheeks, and the moist, alluring eyes she turned on him...

At that moment, he knew it clearly.

He wanted her.

He wanted the woman who was supposed to be his adoptive mother.

And the only way to have her was to make her a widow.

★ Female lead is not a virgin, male lead is. She is five years older than him.
