Synopsis:

Shen Zhi, a lop-eared rabbit, fifteen years old.

Born in the Lower City, far too beautiful, a herbivore, and abandoned by his parents at a young age. By any reckoning, he had a disastrous start from the start.

Yet no one ever dared mess with him.

Everyone on West Street in the Lower City knew how beautiful their lop-eared rabbit boy was, and how vicious he could be. One moment, he could smile sweetly as he chopped off the hand of someone who had reached out to menace him, just to make an example of them. The next, he could weep pitifully before the enforcement squad, telling them how innocent and terrified he was.

He was simply a lunatic.

“I’m just a frail, innocent underage lop-eared rabbit. What bad things could I possibly do?”

Eyes brimming with tears, Shen Zhi looked up at the governing officer who had come in person to investigate the frequent incidents of malicious assaults.

The governing officer had recently been parachuted in. He looked to be in his twenties, with sharp features and a tall, lean build. Beneath his black military cap, a pair of deep green wolf eyes looked down at Shen Zhi. His voice was cool and detached.

“Cameras were installed on West Street yesterday.”

Shen Zhi’s tears stopped at once.

He held out his slender wrist pitifully, changing tack faster than anyone: “Then arrest me. Could you please not lock me up with carnivores? ... I’m scared.”

The man before him let out a helpless sigh, crouched down, and wiped the tear from the corner of his eye with his thumb.

“I’m not arresting you.” The governing officer’s touch was gentle. “You were acting in self-defense. I’m here to take you to school.”

Shen Zhi blinked and finally took a proper look at the man before him.

Carefully, he pushed his luck a little further. “But I’ll get bullied at school, too. I’m just a little rabbit who hasn’t come of age yet. I need a guardian.”

“Preferably... a guardian like you.”

In his first month as governing officer of the Lower City, Yu Huaixu picked up an underage lop-eared rabbit and brought him home to raise.

The little lop-eared rabbit had turned out a bit crooked, but that was all right. Yu Huaixu was confident he could set him straight.

Until Shen Zhi turned eighteen.

He was pinned to the bed by Shen Zhi in the throes of his heat.

The beautiful boy, eyes rimmed red, leaned in to kiss him.

He played pitiful and innocent, but his methods were violent and he was a little too crazy. He would not stop until Yu Huaixu admitted he was carrying their little bunny.

...Very well.

After years of devoted care, he had raised a black lotus.
