Summer Rewind

Secret Crush | Gentle, easygoing guy x cool, roguish guy | Citrus and mint

-

In high school, Yun Jian was an obedient student, so unremarkable she faded into the crowd. Cheng Shu was the opposite: he was the center of attention, always surrounded by friends and admirers.

On graduation day, Cheng Shu received a stack of confession letters. One was anonymous and contained just a single line.

-[Congratulations on graduating. May your future shine bright.]

That day, she hid in the hallway outside the room and overheard him talking with his friends.

"With so many letters, you won't remember who wrote which one anyway. There was no point making them anonymous. What are you going to do with them? You're not actually going to take them home and keep them, are you?"

He replied casually, unconcerned: "I'll throw them away."

A secret crush without even a name signed to it could only be tossed aside.

Just like her, that letter was completely unremarkable.

She was ordinary, her words were ordinary, and its contents were ordinary too.

But only Yun Jian knew that even this indirect, anonymous confession had taken every bit of courage she had back then.

Years later, Cheng Shu received a handwritten letter from the person in charge at a partner company, politely explaining the issues with their proposal.

It was detailed and professional, but once again, there was no signature.

Looking at the handwriting, he emailed the sender: "Teacher Yun, it seems your future really did shine bright."

"Summer days will turn back time, and I'll return to your side."
