After We Swapped Spirit Beasts with Our Archenemy

In one sentence, from the receiver's perspective: After our spirit companions switched, the Sentinel commander became my personal Demon King bodyguard.

Serious blurb:

A cold, aloof white wolf Sentinel top x a spirited fox Guide bottom (Bian You and Jing Yan)

Jing Yan, an S-class Guide, is powerful and comes from a prestigious family. He grew up with everyone doting on him. That is, until he met Bian You

At their first meeting, the Sentinel's spirit companion pounced on Jing Yan's and bit it on the neck.

Their spirit companions fought in public, and the two of them became enemies from that day on.

Then an accident caused their spirit companions to switch!

Feeling the other person's spirit companion running wild in his mental domain, Jing Yan thinks: Just destroy the world.

*

Everyone at Imperial Military Academy knows that Jing Yan and Bian You can't stand each other.

They're both S-class, with a compatibility rating of 99%. They should be a match made in heaven, yet they became rivals on the very first day of school.

But now

[Breaking news! Some punks were giving Jing Yan a hard time today, and Bian You skipped class to go find him. Have the sworn enemies become lovers?]

Bian You: “His spirit companion kept whining, and wouldn't stop. What else could I do?”

[Good news! During spirit companion class for the Sentinel division today, Jing Yan sat outside the classroom waiting for Bian You to finish!]

Jing Yan: “If I don't show up, he can't summon his spirit companion. Don't drag me into this.”

[Holy crap! During field training, someone saw the two of them sneaking hand in hand into the woods in the middle of the night!]

Jing Yan: “His spirit companion suddenly needed him to soothe it with his mental energy.”

Bian You: “Yeah.” (Guilty silence)

One-on-one, happy ending, only each other. No pairing them with anyone else, and no role reversals.

This story has original Sentinel/Guide worldbuilding, and both leads can really fight.

I mainly want to write about little animals, hehe. You don't need to have read Sentinel/Guide stories to enjoy this one.
