I met my husband on an ordinary evening.

I was walking home when a couple of delinquents arguing blocked my way.

Just as I was getting scared and trying to cautiously slip past them, he appeared as if nothing were happening, pulled the arguing delinquents apart, and beat them both up.

What a righteous person! I thought. I hurried to thank him, but he seemed confused.

He looked like a muscle-bound bruiser, so that expression was just unfairly adorable!

I wanted to get his contact information so I could thank him properly, but he turned and left with a bored look, without saying a word.

The next day, I ran into him in the same alley, once again stepping in to do justice.

I ran over to greet him, but he stared at me like I was completely bizarre.

"Who are you?"

He'd completely forgotten me!

I was so embarrassed I didn't know where to look, but then I happened to notice the wound on his hand.

In a panic, I fished a bandage out of my bag and offered it to him.

"If you don't mind, please use this."

He looked down at the bandage, then at me.

And that's how we met.

After we got together, I realized my boyfriend might be a little too strong.

"Um... why is there a handprint on the fridge?"

My boyfriend's eyes darted away.

"It just happened, okay?"

"...So what exactly did you do?!"

I sternly warned him not to break any more furniture, but he just turned his back to me and answered dismissively, "Yeah, yeah, I got it."

Fortunately, no more furniture suffered after that.

My boyfriend also seemed good at making money, though the way he did it was a little unclear.

"Did you get into another fight?" I asked as I bandaged his wounds, both worried and exasperated. "Can't you find a different job?"

"I don't know how to do regular jobs." He seemed to be trying hard to put on an evil grin, but to me he was just a stubborn mule with devil horns on his head. "Besides, fighting makes money. It's killing two birds with one stone."

Oh, right. My boyfriend also really liked fighting.

That's why he liked breaking up fights.

He could fight two people at once and not get scolded for it.

After our child was born, I warned him not to teach the baby bad habits.

"...And you can't treat the baby like a toy, either!"

He clicked his tongue in disappointment.

Later, the baby suddenly started talking to empty air, saying, "Doggy, doggy, doggy," and seemed delighted.

I didn't think much of it, but my husband wore a thoughtful smile.

"Looks like we can sell it."

"You're cooking today."

And so our family's strange but happy life went on.

2. In keeping with the original, during the Hidden Inventory arc, Shiu Kong once called Toji "Zenin" before later calling him "Fushiguro." In this story, Toji will keep his original name, Zenin Toji, throughout.

3. The heroine is an ordinary person who can't see curses at first, with no fighting ability.

4. The main plot happens much, much later. The story after the Shibuya Incident is not used as a reference.

No one had come to see him off at the palace gate. That was only natural. There was no compassion or warmth in the world of demons. Even fathers and sons could slaughter each other over territory, and no one would think it strange. Only cold blood and the joy of the hunt could...

"Big Brother!"

A childish voice rang out behind him. A small figure in red, carrying a little shoulder bag, stumbled out of the courtyard.

A crowd of servants followed in a great rush, and, on closer inspection, the one at the very front was his own father.

Only the father, who was usually renowned for his grandeur and dignity, now looked as if he were about to cry.

Sesshomaru: "..."

"Inuyasha!" The Dog General rushed forward and scooped Inuyasha up. "Stop being naughty!"

"No! No! Put me down! I want to go with Big Brother!" Inuyasha kicked his little legs with all his might, like a dog paddling in water. "Mother said it's okay! I want to go train with Big Brother!"

The servants immediately crowded around and began talking over one another, trying to persuade him.

"Young Master, training isn't a game. It's dangerous out there!"

"That's right! There won't be any of Uncle's cakes out there."

"And no fun toys!"

"At night, you'll have to sleep on hard rocks!"

"There might even be ghosts!"

"Doesn't Inuyasha want his father anymore?" the Dog General choked out, cradling Inuyasha's head and rubbing his cheek against it. "Father will be lonely without you."

Inuyasha protested, "I want to become a great demon too!"

The Dog General: "Your brother can become a great demon. Inuyasha doesn't have to do anything!"

Sesshomaru: "..."

So noisy.

In the end, he still carried his little brother off with him.

The Dog General tearfully said goodbye. "Be careful! Big Brother, don't let Inuyasha fall!"

Sesshomaru, transformed into his beast form, gave his father on the ground a cold glance.

How ridiculous. How many times did he think he'd done this already?

------ Notes Before Reading ------

1. It's the same dogs as ever, just in a fun alternate universe.

2. In the original, the older dog already had an adolescent body when the younger dog was born. This story changes things a little, so the two dogs grow up together. Just making that clear.

3. The original's character deaths may be reversed at random.

4. The main plot will probably be in the extras, or perhaps near the ending.

5. Mainly a family-bond story. Truly brotherly love and respect (not).

6. Any out-of-character behavior is on me! Blame me, not them!
