Tianyu Nan lost both her parents when she was little. All they left her, besides enough money to see her through adulthood, was a locked book.

She had no key to it, but treasured it dearly, carrying it everywhere as if that meant she wasn't alone.

When she was six, feverish and in her wheelchair, she fell into the snow and met a little boy.

Nan: "Your eyes are so pretty."

The little boy fell asleep beside her for a very long time, apparently alarming the adults who were with him.

On her eleventh birthday, she met that pretty little boy again.

He bared his teeth in a grin. It was supposedly a chance encounter, but he looked as if he'd been waiting for her for ages.

"Come home with me to the Gojo family!"

Like a cat with its claws out, Nan thought.

So she took the kitty home.

The kitty loved his new nest.

When she was fifteen, the little cat came home tipsy. She wanted to help him sober up, but when she opened her eyes again, she was in the hospital.

Lying in bed, she realized the little cat had grown so big that he could pick her up now.

After that, the little cat never touched alcohol again.

She began having dreams.

"Absorb his power..."

"Who?"

"Or you will die..."

"No! I can't!"

The lock on the book cracked open.

-

Years later, Nan clutched her staff and descended from the sky, nervous.

"D... Did I hit it?"

Gojo held up one finger.

"Bad news: you missed, and the shot landed more than ten kilometers from the target."

Nan was instantly disappointed.

"Good news." Gojo's face lit up.

"The target was destroyed~"

At the other end of Japan, Geto cautiously peered into the fresh crater.

Ieiri: ...

Geto: ...

Geto: "...A human-shaped artillery cannon?"

Ieiri (lighting a cigarette): "No. A nuclear bomb."

-

Itadori: "Hey, does Gojo-sensei have a girlfriend?"

Kugisaki: "That idiot? No way..."

Fushiguro: "He does."

Kugisaki: ...

Itadori: ...Seriously??!

Fushiguro: "Don't bother her. Gojo-sensei will get mad. Seriously."

Then they went and bothered her.

Nan happily welcomed them and dug something out of the house.

"Your teacher used to sleep clutching a doll when he was little. Look, this is it!"

Itadori/Kugisaki/Fushiguro: Ooh~

Gojo (suddenly appearing): "Well? A GREAT+TEACHER doll has to be GREAT too, right? Hahaha!"

Kugisaki was speechless. "This guy's still a kid, isn't he?"

"That's not it." Nan carefully put the doll back in its box.

"It's because he grew up that he can be like this."

Nan smiled.

"He never used to talk at all."

Because he was the Child of God.

Only after the students had left did Gojo grab Nan by the shoulders, looking utterly aggrieved. "I did so talk!"

"You didn't." Nan smiled and tugged at Gojo's cheek. "Don't deny it."

You'd run away whenever you saw me.

Gojo played the spoiled brat. "I don't care. You owe me compensation."

Nan's gaze wandered. "...It's daytime."

The kitty nuzzled her head and covered her eyes with one hand.

"How about now?"

Before You Read

1. Gojo is the romantic pairing. Happy ending.

2. Geto has a romantic pairing. Happy ending.

3. The heroine's abilities are based on Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. She is the Host of the Book of Darkness, with Hayate Yagami as the model. This story only draws on the combat abilities and related elements. It does not involve Nanoha's main plot, and no Nanoha characters will appear.

4. The Book of Darkness (Book of the Night Sky) in this story has no Knight System.

5. The heroine uses a wheelchair early on and recovers later. She's a bit of a Mary Sue, but not as much as Gojo the kitty.

6. The Jujutsu Kaisen main plot comes much later and appears only sparingly. I just want to spoil the kitty.

7. Check the author's profile for the update schedule. Updates are usually at nine in the morning.

8. The author desperately needs comments to keep going. Without comments, I'll wither away. (Don't make me get on my knees and beg you QAQ)

What Does the Wife of the Honored One Think About Every Day?

I met my husband one perfectly ordinary evening.

I was on my way home when I ran into some delinquents arguing and blocking my way.

I was scared, and was just about to carefully slip past them when he appeared as if nothing was going on, separated the arguing delinquents, and beat them both up.

What a strong sense of justice! I thought. I hurried to thank him, but he looked rather confused.

With muscles like that, making such a face was just unfair!

I wanted to get his contact information so I could thank him properly, but he turned away with a bored expression and left without saying a word.

The next day, I ran into him again in a little alley, once more "dispensing justice."

I ran over to greet him, but he stared at me as if I were incomprehensible.

"Who are you?"

He'd completely forgotten me!

It was so awkward I had no idea where to look. By chance, I noticed the wound on his hand.

Flustered, I rummaged in my bag and held out a bandage.

"If you don't mind, please use this."

He looked down at the bandage, then at me.

And that's how we met.

After we got together, I realized my boyfriend might be a little too strong.

"Um... what's with the handprint on the fridge?"

My boyfriend looked away.

"It just happened."

"...So what exactly did you do?!"

I sternly warned him not to damage any more of our furniture, but he just turned his back on me and replied dismissively, "Yeah, yeah, I got it."

Fortunately, no more furniture was harmed after that.

My boyfriend also seemed pretty good at making money, though his methods were a little unclear.

"Were you fighting again?" I asked while bandaging his wounds, both worried and exasperated. "Can't you find a different job?"

"I don't know how to do ordinary jobs." He seemed to be trying to force an evil smile, but to me he was just a stubborn donkey with devil horns on his head. "Besides, fighting makes money. It's killing two birds with one stone."

Oh, right. My boyfriend really liked fighting.

That's why he liked breaking up fights.

He could fight two people at once and not get scolded for it.

After our child was born, I warned him not to teach the baby bad habits.

"...And you can't treat the baby like a toy, either!"

He clicked his tongue in disappointment.

Later, the baby suddenly began talking to the air, saying, "Doggy, doggy," and seemed delighted.

I didn't think much of it, but my husband gave a thoughtful smile.

"Looks like we can sell it."

"You're cooking today."

And so our strange little family's happy life went on.
