Spring Comes to Hong Kong

Clear-eyed canary x Hong Kong big shot

Wan Chunshan spent three years by Gao Zhen's side, from the age of nineteen to twenty-two. She knew she was only a substitute for Gao Zhen's one true love, the woman he held in his heart, so she didn't dare hope for even the slightest affection from him, much less entertain any thoughts about him.

But when she saw with her own eyes how Gao Zhen stopped a plane just to see his first love, who had moved abroad, abandoning a board meeting to fly overseas, Wan Chunshan couldn't keep the bitterness from her heart.

She knew it was time to leave, before she fell too deeply.

Gao Zhen was cold to everyone, but he showed some tenderness to the young woman he'd kept by his side for three years.

Gao Zhen thought anyone could leave him except her, but he never imagined she'd one day be ruthless enough to leave him and Hong Kong behind.

Someone teased him, asking why he didn't go after her.

In the dim, noisy club, Gao Zhen's expression was inscrutable. A glowing cigarette burned between his fingers. At the question, he gave a scoffing laugh.

"She's just throwing a little tantrum. She'll come back on her own within five days."

He was sure of it.

But her words kept ringing in his ears, over and over.

"A-Zhen, I won't leave Hong Kong."

"I'll never leave you, either."

But Wan Chunshan didn't set foot in Hong Kong for five whole years.

Gao Zhen went completely mad.

One day.

"Gao Zhen." Unable to watch him suffer over love any longer, his friend passed along the news. "Wan Chunshan is in Hong Kong."

The man who had been a walking corpse sprang to his feet and went out, leaving only a gust of wind behind.

That night, a huge ship was ordered to stop before it even reached port, and a crowd of people swarmed aboard.

While everyone looked on in bewilderment, Wan Chunshan, resting in her room, found herself cornered in a confined space.

The man, cold all over, gathered her into his arms and whispered hoarsely against her ear, his voice full of grievance: "Liar. You had the nerve to come back?"

"Do you still want me?"
