[The story has been rewritten with a new premise. My sincerest apologies to all my dear readers.]
Shi Enai is a laid-back slacker whose daily routine consists of eating, drinking, and waiting to die.
Everyone's opinion of him boils down to this:
Bad at school, good-hearted.
That is, until he fell asleep at the animal rescue center he'd founded and woke up in an internet cafe. Suddenly, people started saying he'd found his drive, all for the sake of a man.
For example, two people who had never interacted began seeing each other after Shi Enai started bringing him breakfast every day.
For example, someone would be waiting outside the classroom every day after school.
For example, when someone on a training camp trip was stranded in a downpour at a temporary shelter with no food, water, or signal, a person carrying a huge pack made his way over mountains and ridges to the village.
Despite being covered in wounds, he made sure everyone was rescued.
Er Nannan was grateful for what Shi Enai had done. Some might say it was because Shi Enai liked him that he treated him so well. No, it was because Er Nannan liked him that he thought Shi Enai treated him well.
That's right, Er Nannan had liked Shi Enai for years.
He'd never dared to say a word, until one morning Shi Enai brought breakfast over and smiled at him. "Good morning. Remember to eat breakfast."
His feelings finally took shape.
Shi Enai had a secret. Once, after waking up, he had transmigrated five years into the future and met someone.
They had never crossed paths, but he'd heard of the man's reputation: wealthy family, top of his class, an all-around genius. At the time, the man was out of his mind and locked up. As Shi Enai passed the isolation room, the man grabbed his hand and said,
"Help me."
After transmigrating back to five years earlier, Shi Enai decided to help him. The first time the man thanked him, Shi Enai waved it off: No need to thank me.
The second time he thanked him, Shi Enai waved it off: Don't mention it.
The third time he thanked him, Shi Enai waved it off: What are you doing?
The fourth time, the man confessed his love. Shi Enai waved it off: You don't have to like me.
?
A confession?
A sunny, love-filled slacker who loves to throw in the towel gong VS an all-around genius, neurotic shou who loves driving himself crazy
"Nobody needs me" VS "I only need you"
Theme: Once you make a choice, you have to accept the consequences. You can't run away at the last minute.
