[Genshin Impact] Amun the Usurper

A quick, no-frills summary to save you time and brainpower: This is a serious, self-indulgent story about transmigrating into the body of the Scarlet King and rebelling against the Heavenly Principles. Suitable for mature readers under eighteen. Healthy literature.

Some parts of this story are based on original-lore research and include transformative interpretations and speculation. Please don't take them as fact. Also, if you want to experience every last bit of Genshin Impact's ridiculously long story without spoilers, please don't read this until you've finished Sumeru, because there will definitely be spoilers.

Additional note: The author has a good track record of finishing stories, but is a complicated person and probably not a mainstream Jinjiang author. I have an extreme fondness for Greek tragedy and the aesthetics of bad endings.

That's right, I'm going to write all seven nations. The story will follow this order, and the current update is version 2.3, hehehe (as of when I'm writing this).

Below are content warnings and the most important details (you can skip this section, since it's rather long.)

Additional note (the most important new information, and also a content warning): This is a very long ensemble story starring Amon. Il's goal is to write a new Genshin Impact storyline with Amon as the protagonist. It will include a great deal of research and original-lore material, and as the plot progresses, characters may die without being out of character. That includes Amon, the protagonist himself.

The following characters may die (this is only a possibility): Barbatos, Morax, Ei, Makoto, all the yokai of Inazuma, the Three-Eyed Five-Manifestation Immortal, Ganyu and her group, Dvalin, Amon, Buer, Nabu Malikata, the Jinn, the Aranara, the Seven Sages, Remus, Azhdaha, Egeria, all the Oceanids (including Focalors), Istaroth, the Heavenly Principles, Phanes, Khaenri'ah, and every other character appearing in the current era of Genshin Impact... In short, any character who appears could reasonably die as the story progresses without being out of character. The world itself might even be destroyed!

I think listing the key names makes this clearer and more striking, so fans who only want cuddly scenes should steer clear! But fans who want something more grounded are welcome to see how the gods react to a rebellion by the whole world. After all, there are plenty of stories about cuddly scenes, and few about angst. Il is precious! Il can only promise not to write characters out of character, though they will grow and change.

You can think of this as the main story of Genshin Impact for readers aged 18 and up, but I still recommend it to readers under eighteen. It's good to learn a little about the harsh realities of life. (If you want something sweet and satisfying, I've started a Genshin Impact husband-and-wife cuddling story in my collection.)

New addition: Since this is a long ensemble story, Amon appears in fewer than 10% of the sixty chapters in the Gurabad City arc (approximately). That's because I wrote the story of all three generations of Gurabad and all of Sumeru, and went through four protagonists along the way. Amon and the other gods will appear much more often in future arcs, but at heart this is still an ensemble story. Il believes that bringing the world and all seven nations to life is what will make their deaths meaningful later. (Also, you can skip the Gurabad City arc, also known as The Poem of Gods and Men in the Great Desert, without greatly affecting the plot's progression or coherence. But reading it will make for a better experience. If you only want scenes with Amon, you can skip chapters that are clearly part of a series, such as Travelogue of the Gilded Kingdoms and I Was Once Beautiful, Nail Me to the Anqa. However, the story before Travelogue of the Gilded Kingdoms is directly connected to the Remuria arc, so I recommend reading it for a coherent experience. Otherwise, it'll be a little confusing, hahaha. Also, when Amon or a god is the protagonist, the chapter titles won't include series names like Travelogue of the Gilded Kingdoms.)
