According to the historical records, Gao Yang Lie, ruler of the Qi Dynasty, united the realm through the efforts of six generations. In his early years, he was a brave and wise ruler, with all the makings of a great emperor. But in his later years, he became muddleheaded and obsessed with cultivating immortality. He favored an ill-omened man who had been cast out by his family, and forced the people to build the Star-Picking Tower and the Heavenly Virtue Temple.
At the suggestion of a treacherous courtier, he even used the blood of the young son of the Fei family, the foremost of the great clans, to make an elixir. The Fei family could no longer endure it. While Gao Yang Lie was gravely ill, they joined forces with the other great clans to launch a major uprising and enthroned Gao Yang Min, Gao Yang Lie's second son.
And Gao Yang Lie, the tyrant, was forever nailed to history's pillar of shame.
Other people transmigrate with overpowered golden fingers. Their Systems are either adorable babies or jokesters, and they dote on their Hosts.
But after Fei Tan worked himself to death from overtime, he transmigrated and got a busy System that was often nowhere to be seen.
When Fei Tan woke up in the remote Ten Thousand Mountains, he called for the System hundreds and thousands of times and nearly got eaten by the mountain tiger king. Only then did the busy System finally send him a message.
"Hello, Host. I am System 901, and I will be spending the rest of your life with you. I hope we can get along. 901 is a study-supervision System. I've detected that you're in a world with very low spiritual energy, so I can give you a basic introduction to cultivation."
Fei Tan was overjoyed and agreed at once.
But Fei Tan never expected that, to make sure he focused on his studies, 901 would put a barrier around the cave where he lived.
After Fei Tan was forced to become a baby who loved studying,
one day, the barrier suddenly vanished, and a brave, extraordinary general walked in and knelt before him, mistaking him for an immortal.
It turned out that the great emperor whom the general served loyally was gravely ill, and no medicine could help him. The general had gone into the mountains to offer prayers to the mountain god for the emperor's recovery.
Fei Tan wasn't an immortal, but he didn't want to be cooped up alone in a little courtyard studying anymore.
It wasn't until long after he entered the world that Fei Tan discovered he had already become a tiny pawn in the game of worldly affairs.
A particularly despicable one.
*
After entering the world, Fei Tan discovered that he was the notorious Fei Tan from the history books, infamous for all eternity.
And even without him, the treacherous Fei Tan, the Fei family still seemed to be conspiring with the Second Prince to rebel.
Oh, wait. Gao Yang Lie, who wasn't quite dead yet, had already been tossed in with the rotten fish and shrimp to await his death.
A few things to know before reading:
1. There may not be much romance.
2. Gao Yang Lie is modeled on Qin Shi Huang, but only as a model. This is not meant to reflect on the real First Emperor.
