Great Qin: I Mistook Qin Shi Huang for My Own Father

Zhao Jinxiao fell ill, and his once-foggy mind suddenly cleared. He not only remembered roughly how his father had left him by the Wei River to be raised, but also recalled his previous life.

It was September of the thirty-fifth year of Qin Shi Huang's reign.

In another month it would be October, the beginning of the new year in the Qin calendar. The thirty-sixth year of Qin Shi Huang's reign was almost here, and less than two years remained until his death.

Xianyang was about to descend into chaos. They had to hurry and hide away in some remote mountain forest.

But the father who had promised to come back for him when he turned eighteen still hadn't returned. Just as Zhao Xiao was about to grow moss waiting for his father to come home, a tall, imposing man pushed open the door, accompanied by two guards.

Zhao Jinxiao rushed over excitedly. "Dad! You're finally back! Hurry, hurry, let's pack up and move. What do you mean, why are we in such a rush? Qin Shi Huang is about to kick the bucket. The world will fall into chaos and war will rage everywhere. If we wait any longer, it'll be too late."

That day, Ying Zheng had left the palace with Meng Yi and Zhang Han just to get a drink of water at a grand estate by the Wei River. He never expected to come away with an older son.

From then on, their daily life went like this:

"Dad, try the meat pies I made for you."

"Dad, we have to take all these carriages, stone mills, and seed drills with us. Farming in the countryside is the sensible choice."

"Dad, what's that in your hand? A flame pill? Who gave you this? They're trying to kill you! You can't just eat some random elixir. Wait until we're settled, and your son will refine a real immortal pill for you."

Zhao Jinxiao realized that ever since his dad came back, he had an endless list of things to worry about. His dad was not only taking random elixirs like Qin Shi Huang, he also wished he had an immature older son just like Qin Shi Huang.

His big brother was a kind, upright young man.

Wait, Dad, are you really just my dad?
