The Bright Moon Falls into My Arms

[Brilliant to the Point of Being Eerie, Frail Junior Sister × Overwhelmingly Strong, Unrequitedly in Love Senior Brother]

The tangled history between Yelu Xihe of the Judicial Bureau and Chu Li, the commander-in-chief of the Imperial Guards, is common knowledge among every official in court.

Chu Li has cherished a white moonlight deep in his heart for years: his junior sister from the days when they studied martial arts under the Peach Grove master.

After the Great Shang fell, his junior sister vanished without a trace for two years. Chu Li went mad searching for her the whole time.

In the third year, Chu Li suddenly received a letter from her saying she planned to come and seek refuge with him.

The commander-in-chief was overjoyed. He rode a hundred li out of the city to welcome her, recommended her for the Spring Examination and a position at court, and cared for her every step of the way.

Chu Li had always been aloof and solitary, and had never paid any woman such attention.

Just as everyone thought that the cold, proud commander-in-chief was finally about to fall in love, his junior sister rejected the marriage decree he had asked Emperor Yin to grant.

The whole capital was in an uproar.

People lamented that even the commander-in-chief, with his iron-fisted methods, could stumble and let someone climb over him.

And then she dumped him! Beauty really does make fools of us!

The rumors grew wilder by the day, inspiring all kinds of tragic romances that spread through teahouses and taverns.

Like the story of senior and junior disciples cutting their robes and severing all ties.

Or the commander-in-chief drowning his sorrows in drink on the street late at night, driven mad by love.

One night, Chu Li was dead drunk. In his hazy vision, a woman emerged from the depths of the moonlight and stopped before him. Her cool beauty was like the bright moon as she gazed down at him.

The man gave a cold laugh. "Lord Yelu, how impressive you are..."

His junior sister frowned in displeasure. "Get up."

"..." Chu Li's gaze flickered. His lips twitched, and he sniffed. At last, he swayed to his feet. "Oh."
