Wen Ying, senior disciple of the Piaomiao Sect, spent her life exorcising demons and defending the righteous. She never imagined that one day she would be reborn in the body of a newborn demon beast.
Her birth sent spiritual energy surging through the heavens and earth, attracting countless covetous demon beasts who came intending to devour her.
As the demons gathered, the notorious ancient great demon, the Cage Emperor Griffin, suppressed them all to claim her flesh for himself. The ancient great demon's golden vertical pupils fixed on her as he slowly approached, bringing an overwhelming pressure.
"Every demon beast in the Desolate Realm must offer everything, including its life, to welcome the King's arrival."
At the critical moment, a Venerable One descended from the sky and rescued her, taking her to be raised in the Valley of Ten Thousand Flowers by the Bohai Sea.
Wen Ying had heard that the valley's master, the True Person Cijing, was capricious and ill-tempered. The Bohai Sea was the cultivators' domain. No matter how arrogant the Cage Emperor Griffin was, as long as she was sheltered by the Valley of Ten Thousand Flowers, it would never dare force its way in.
But then, one night, she had a great dream. As the mist covering the sky dissipated, the lion's cold vertical pupils approached with slow, graceful steps, and its massive paw pressed firmly against her back.
The entirely scarlet fox was forced to crouch on the ground. She thought she was doomed, but then a tingling sensation that reached deep into her soul spread from the back of her neck.
The lion's thick tongue was covered in barbs. Wen Ying instinctively narrowed her eyes, unable to resist the red fox's natural pleasure at having its fur groomed.
She heard a beguiling, dangerous voice say:
"You were born with the bloodline of an emperor. My wife should not be tamed by mere humans. Come back. Come back to my side."
#Messy love triangle, two men pursuing one woman. A warning for trashy melodrama!#
#The female lead is a fox in the early chapters. The male lead is a mighty lion who can take human form.#
#There is a groveling-to-win-her-back arc for the second male lead, but no switching male leads.#
Theme: None for now.
