Note: The main characters in this story are Cen Shaowang, Mi Hui, Lang Xingxian, and Shuo Jun, listed in order of appearance. There are four leads in all, forming two couples. Their stories take place in different periods and each receives a different amount of focus. But this new character-card feature only lets you enter two people if the emotional core is romance. This story has FOUR leads!!! Synopsis: Mi Hui has terrible luck. She can’t keep a long-lived tortoise alive, nor can she keep a resurrection herb alive. People and things alike never live long near her. She thought her life would always be this way, ending in lonely old age, until she took another job searching for an object in the mountains, as usual, and met Cen Shaowang. Cen Shaowang is an idiot. The people in the mountains call people like her village guardians, said to ward off bad luck and bring good fortune. That’s why she was tricked into joining a team searching the mountains for treasure as a lucky charm. When she returned, the innkeeper she’d been staying with had died under mysterious circumstances, leaving her without shelter, and people of unknown identity were after her. A thousand-year-old jade relic? A nine-jointed golden staff? It turned out the innkeeper’s legacy contained clues to a sacred artifact. As they search for the artifact, they encounter people they can’t avoid. Mi Hui’s nightmares follow her like a shadow, while the mystery of Cen Shaowang’s past is gradually unraveled. Is it fate or human design, true affection or false pretenses? The world is a chessboard, and its maze of illusions is hard to escape. Four leads, two couples, a long plot, slow-burn romance, angst, and a happy ending. Theme: Love life and be a person of loyalty and integrity.
