Assassinating the Owl

Damiano al Ghul, reborn from another world, an outstanding member of the Brotherhood who has turned away from the dark, heir apparent to the League of Assassins, a future conqueror guided by his own sense of justice, and a rebellious son of the demon, leaves the Great Desert to avoid internal strife within the League. He travels to Gotham with his mother, Talia, to meet the father he has not seen in over a decade.

That night, a dark red moon hung high in the sky. A man who blended into the night cast a distant glance from the execution platform atop the cliff. A flock of owls shrieked shrilly behind him, and terror and loneliness seemed to rush toward them.

"That is your father, the man who truly rules this city of sin," his mother said.

"We call him Night Owl."

Content warnings:

1. This is my take on Earth-3. Official and fanon settings from various versions are mixed together, with no strict adherence to canon and a mountain of personal headcanons. There are time and age changes. Canon characters are extremely out of character, and non-canon characters take up a large part of the story.

2. The main pairing is the Earth-3 version of the Super Twins: Joel x Damiano, 1v1. There are no fixed secondary pairings in the main story, but the side characters' romances meet the usual anything-goes standard of American comics.

3. The protagonist, Damiano, is an alternate counterpart of the main-universe Damian. Their names are spelled the same but transliterated differently, purely to distinguish him from the main-universe Damian. Other Earth-3 Robins and Talons will appear, but in reverse order.

4. I started this on impulse with no outline. Updates whenever inspiration strikes, so enter at your own risk.

My upcoming story next door, The Son of Heaven, is part of the same series as this one. It has a similar style but the pairing is reversed: Lord-version Mi Qiao.

Theme: Even in the darkness, there are still people who light the way.
