BSD: The World's Greatest Criminal Detective

Character blurb: Compared to ordinary people, highly intelligent great detectives always have this quirk or that, all incomprehensible to normal folk. Their archenemies, on the other hand, often wear a near-perfect social mask. Who would have thought that Edogawa Ranpo in a parallel world would be a mature, accomplished professional: not directionally challenged, able to control himself, and fully capable of looking after himself? Plot blurb: Several neighboring derivative worlds were briefly warped and merged by a passing Great Being. Human consciousness was altered en masse, and the boundaries between spaces teetered on the brink of collapse. People beneath the same sky could not see one another, and opening a familiar front door might mean being swallowed by the darkness outside... No one realized that space was layered upon itself, or that the world had become bizarre and uncanny. When these not-so-distant worlds finally separate, it will also be the day humanity, whose ending has already been decided, is destroyed. A little boy who gained an extraordinary Eye of Truth due to the worlds merging gazed up at the sky on a dark, rainy night and glimpsed a sliver of the truth about the world beyond the wall. And so he went mad. But was [Edogawa Ranpo] twisted into a fanatical believer seeking a sacrifice, or did some being seize the chance to invade and assimilate [Edogawa Ranpo]'s body...? Hush. Do not ask, do not listen, and do not look directly at the gods.
