How Did You Know I Keep a Fox?

[Fox top x Demon Lord bottom] 1 The little fox's benefactor was a mighty demon lord trapped by a formation in a forbidden place. The fox accidentally stumbled into the formation and was injured. Just as he was about to be devoured by wolves, the demon lord saved him. The man's wrists were bound in chains, and strange black incantations spread along the side of his neck. He leaned back casually, his eyes an unfathomable black as he glanced up. From then on, the little fox became a regular visitor to the forbidden place. By day, he went out to forage. He'd bring back two strings of wild fruit, catch two wild rabbits, or snare two nests of mice, and give the man a portion of everything. When the nights grew cold, the little fox would curl up beside the man to sleep. His fluffy tails each had a job: one to rest his chin on, one to cover himself, and one to cover the demon lord. The demon lord glanced at the food the fox had brought him to repay his kindness, his expression unreadable. "I have no need of this." Yet he didn't push the fox's tail away. The little fox edged even closer to the demon lord and secretly slipped his fluffy tail into the man's palm. Curious, he asked, "Then what do you need?" The man didn't answer. He raised a hand and gathered the warm tail, making the chains jingle. 2 The little fox had cultivated six tails in all. He paid three of them to free his benefactor. By then, the fox's soft fur was soaked in blood. The pain of losing his tails made him curl up and bite his forepaw, his animal eyes growing hazy. The little fox was barely conscious from the pain, but he still whispered, "I paid you back... for saving my life." The demon lord stared at the bloodstained fox for a long moment, then suddenly reached out and picked him up. 3 The little fox loved warm sunshine, the rich scent of flowers, the chirping of birds, and the demon lord, who always threatened to skin him but let him snuggle close for warmth every time. The little fox wanted to splash around with the demon lord in a cool spring during summer, but the demon lord would only snatch him up at once and coldly warn him that if he got sick, he'd be thrown out to the wolves. The little fox wanted to go with the demon lord to the mountaintop to see the moon and stars. But the demon lord would only put on a show, turning day into night and night into day, then change everything back with satisfaction when the fox's eyes filled with tears. The demon lord had no appreciation for the wind and moon in the wilderness. He had always been cruel and capricious. After being imprisoned in darkness for thousands of years, all he wanted was to destroy every bit of light and warmth that had nothing to do with him. 4 The little fox had cultivated six tails in all. Three were used to save his benefactor, and three to stop the demon lord from destroying the world. When a fox loses its tails, its life is over. Fox top x Demon Lord bottom -- 1.
