My friend's fic: *[Gintama + Tokyo Revengers] Everyone's a Delinquent Except Me* by Guagua Hen Ku My name is Kobayashi Yuka, and I'm a student at Seishun Academy's high school division. Yesterday, I confessed to Tezuka, a boy in my year I've had a crush on for ages, and asked him to be my boyfriend. The good news: He said yes. The bad news: I have no idea how to date! Maybe my twisted expression didn't look much like the joy of a successful confession. Tezuka asked me, puzzled, what was wrong. After I explained honestly, the brown-haired boy pushed up his glasses. “I don't know how to date either.” Well, then... Are we going to turn into two clueless idiots in a shojo manga? “But,” Tezuka went on, “I thought maybe we could start by changing how we address each other. What do you think?” My eyes lit up. “Sure, Hikari-chan!” As soon as I said it, I saw my boyfriend's expression crack just a little. Was that a bad nickname? I really like it. Just like I really like him! The heroine is a caramel-colored, cheerful ENFP puppy; the hero is the icy student council president. A super-sweet romance about two clueless lovers' everyday life. The day I found out that my neighbor's little brother was the leader of a famous Tokyo delinquent gang, my entire worldview collapsed. How could that tiny, adorable, sweets-loving blonde boy, who came over to my house for meals now and then and cuddled up to people like a cat, possibly be the terrifying leader of the Tokyo Manji Gang? That's right. He must have just taken a wrong turn somewhere. I wiped away my tears, pieced my shattered worldview back together, and decided to bring my childhood friend, whom I hadn't seen in ages, as a positive example. Together, we'd sit down for a heart-to-heart with my neighbor's little brother. My childhood friend had just transferred schools. Apparently, he was attending Yato Industrial High School. Though he'd had a difficult childhood, he cared for his sick mother all by himself and raised his younger sister. He was a serious, dependable boy. As for me, I'm an international student who works hard at an underground casino in Kabukicho at night and studies hard during the day to become a “well-rounded student.” I'm the very definition of “someone else's perfect kid.” I was sure that if my childhood friend and I worked together, we could steer my neighbor's little brother back onto the right path. On the appointed day, I waited with my neighbor's little brother for my childhood friend to arrive. But the person who appeared before me was a chuuni boy with a bandage across his nose, wearing a long black biker-gang coat embroidered on the back with “I Alone Reign Supreme Under Heaven.” Outside the door, a head of orange-pink hair tilted to one side. My childhood friend smiled at my neighbor's little brother and opened with, “You little brat, I'll kill you~” Click. My worldview shattered all over again. Theme: Always stay positive and optimistic, and hold fast to who you are, no matter what.
