Wei Changlin died. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself lying in a coffin, with white paper coins floating above his head.
After the people around him screamed and panicked, Wei Changlin saw the man walking toward him: Song Yan.
Song Yan raised an eyebrow. "Back from the dead?"
Having transmigrated into the deceased man's body, Wei Changlin froze for a moment, then grinned and said, "Is it possible that he's already dead, and my soul just took over his body?"
There was a price to pay for making things up on the spot. Wei Changlin was arrested then and there.
Clinging to the coffin, he protested, "Wait! Let this humble citizen explain!"
And so, Wei Changlin learned how to investigate, solved cold cases, and caught the culprits, successfully avenging the original owner.
He thought it was all over, but then Song Yan told his subordinates, "Wei Changlin is quite talented and worthy of great responsibility. From today on, he will serve at my side as my personal aide and investigate cases with me."
Wei Changlin: ??? I got a government job?
Song Yan: You got a job under me.
Later, Wei Changlin joined the imperial court. By solving case after case, he rose rapidly from an ordinary citizen nobody respected to the top star of the Court of Judicial Review.
Seven cases in total:
Case One: Why was a noble young master found dead in his room?
Case Two: What drove a madman to kill?
Case Three: Where did the missing people go?
Case Four: Why was a newcomer found dead in the countryside?
Case Five: What caused the death of a wealthy merchant?
Case Six: Why has an old-time assassin returned to the scene?
Case Seven: What dark secret lies behind a student's gruesome death at home?
* If you're going to nitpick after reading only the beginning, please move along. No writing advice, thanks.
* Read for fun. If you can't get into it, feel free to drop it without telling me.
* The cases come first; romance is secondary.
* After his death, the protagonist transmigrates into the victim of the first case. The victim shares his name.
* This is a fictional historical setting. Please don't scrutinize the details. Men can marry men in this world.
* Every setting exists to serve the plot, so please don't split hairs.
* The author's writing skills are lacking, and this is my first attempt at writing a mystery, so there will be plenty of issues.
A cold and fiery split personality bottom × a narcissistic, tsundere, hotheaded top
Lin Chuqiu is a newly famous top-tier star, wildly popular and adored by fans.
He has an archenemy, Zhao Siheng, who is also a newly famous top-tier star known throughout the country.
Everyone in the entertainment industry knows the two stars can't stand each other, and their fans are constantly at war.
But no one knows that Lin Chuqiu has a split personality. Not even Lin Chuqiu himself knows.
Then one day, just before walking the red carpet, Lin Chuqiu accidentally tripped over his archenemy. The two fell down together in a heap.
The fall jolted his alternate personality awake.
Looking at the face so close to his, the alternate personality couldn't believe his boyfriend was so handsome. He swallowed, grabbed Zhao Siheng by the hair, and kissed him.
Zhao Siheng was so furious his teeth hurt. He yelled, "How dare you mess up my hairstyle!"
Everyone present: ??? That's what you're upset about?
*
Lin Chuqiu had a habit of keeping a diary. One day, his alternate personality accidentally found his diary.
A few lines of large writing stood out: Zhao Siheng is a damn turtle bastard, #&@$...
The alternate personality, now understanding everything: ...
Sorry! Didn't mean to intrude!!!
Zhao Siheng, dumped in an instant, flew into a rage: How dare you seduce me and then abandon me!
Later, right in the middle of things, Lin Chuqiu's main personality suddenly woke up and kicked Zhao Siheng away with a cold expression.
Left high and dry, Zhao Siheng stamped his feet in anger. "You're trying to murder your own husband!!!"
Bonus Scene One
Zhao Siheng: Honey, kisses and hugs, and pick me up!
Main personality: Get lost!
Alternate personality: Love you, mwah!
Bonus Scene Two
Zhao Siheng: Honey, honey, Lin Chuqiu said he'll break my legs if I kiss you again!
Alternate personality: Don't worry, darling. I won't tell him, and he won't find out.
Main personality, icily: He's kissing me!
Theme: Think carefully, observe closely, and never cross the line of the law.
How should I put it? Wei Changlin was originally an undercover JC. Isn't he more perceptive than others? How could he be such a crazy person, do things without considering the consequences, and speak beyond his head? He knew that this was a dynasty where imperial power was supreme, yet he still pretended to be stupid in front of Shangguan again and again, spoke crazy words, and continued to seek death. It was outrageous. He really couldn't stand it anymore.
Thanks to the limited exemption, I feel like there isn't much description of the character's expressions and it seems a bit dry. But overall it's still good. I wish the author will get better and better.
Damn, this is still a police officer. How did he become a police officer? His investigation and resolution of cases are not as good as those of the ancients. He eats like he hasn't eaten in eight hundred years. Also, this is the age of ancient imperial power. The protagonist is so rude and has no etiquette. If he didn't have the halo and attack of the protagonist, he would have died a thousand and eight hundred times ago. I read the introduction of this article and ended up reading it for a long time.
Is the protagonist's IQ really an undercover police officer?!!
Let's change the setting. It really doesn't look like a police officer. It's better to say it's a passionate young man who likes to read mystery novels.
Is this protagonist really a policeman? He's still an undercover policeman. With his temper, don't insult the police.
Wei Changlin used to be an undercover police officer somewhere, why would he react so violently when he saw a dead body (meditation)
This can also be 9 points?? Who are you insulting??!!! People who have been reading books for more than ten years can still get 9 points for this low-energy dialogue, this kind of speechless plot and characters???!!!!!
Isn't the protagonist an undercover police officer? What the hell? How can you be an undercover agent if you are not careful? Anyone who has read knows that the feudal dynasty had a clear distinction between superiority and inferiority.
Shou doesn't look like someone who can reason.
