The Great Sage’s Interdimensional Livestream

The second installment of The Regiment Leader's Cross-World Livestream. You can read it without having read the first one. The Great Sage sips cola and munches potato chips, reminiscing about old friends. If he hadn't run into a bandit chief who'd switched careers to become a streamer on the Journey to the West, life definitely wouldn't be as interesting as it is now. Then he downs a bottle of Felix Felicis. His foot slips, and in a blank room, a squinty-eyed man holds out a streaming contract to him. Right. Allow me to introduce myself. I am the Monkey King, Sun Wukong, Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Victorious Fighting Buddha, from the Water Curtain Cave of Flower-Fruit Mountain! Fans: As usual, we're worried our streamer will get angry and tear this world apart. The Great Sage: I'm a Buddha now. Why would I be so impatient? Three minutes later. He pulls out the Golden Cudgel and makes it grow. "I am the Victorious Fighting Buddha!!!" "Take this, you lot!" P.S. When I wrote The Regiment Leader's Cross-World Livestream seven years ago, I never considered writing a sequel. So when I mentioned the Great Sage becoming a streamer, I only wrote one world in detail (and that was him bullying another regiment leader in the Hunter world). The rest was glossed over or improvised. Mainly, I wanted the old friends to meet up and chat about the bizarre things that happened when the Regiment Leader was a streamer. Now that I'm writing the sequel, the detailed worlds, the conversations after the two meet up, and their gaming sessions will either be omitted or rewritten. Otherwise, I'd just be ripping you off. Don't worry about that. Aside from that, a few small details and bits of worldbuilding I tossed in back then don't fit the plot now that the story is officially underway, so I have to change them. There may be minor inconsistencies between the two stories. Longtime readers, please forgive me (hands together). P.P.S. I have a little one at home, so raising a kid leaves me with no choice. Except for the first week and the week I start charging for chapters, I write six days and take Saturdays off each week (I wish I could update every day, too). P.P.P.S. Everyone in this story's universe speaks Chinese. Also, it's hard to work out the timeline in the real world between the two installments, so don't overthink it. This story goes premium on February 23. Theme: Slay demons and vanquish evil, punish the wicked, and protect all living beings.
