Back to the Millennium: Starting Out as a Child Star

Cheng Yao is a classically trained actor with a handsome face. His classmates and teachers all say he's sure to become a star someday.

But in reality, he's spent ten years struggling in the industry and still doesn't even have a hundred thousand fans.

He keeps running into one mishap after another.

Including, but not limited to...

A major production comes to his school to cast actors, but he misses the opportunity because of an injury.

He films a pretty good drama, but its release is delayed. By the time it finally gets a release date, the lead has become a disgraced celebrity.

Things like this have happened too many times to count. Cheng Yao has grown numb to it all.

A friend says he's always one step behind on the road to stardom.

Cheng Yao thinks that's not entirely right, because being one step behind also brought his life to an abrupt end.

Who could have guessed that all he did was step on a rotten manhole cover while chasing a bus? He missed the bus and fell into the hole, dying on impact.

When he opens his eyes again, Cheng Yao finds himself back in his childhood.

So young that he's only two years old.

Cheng Yao looks down at his tiny toddler body. Once his confusion fades, he's nothing but pleased.

Great, his little legs can walk now.

He'll start walking right away. This time, he won't be one step behind every time!

As the entertainment industry rapidly grows in the new millennium, Cheng Yao rides the wave, progressing from small theater productions to the big screen and making his way to stardom, step by step.
