After Adopting Myself

[Narcissistic BL, complete]

1.

A car accident sent Jiang Hui back fifteen years.

The only way to return was to fulfill the original host's wish.

As he walked down the dim alley he remembered, he saw his younger self sitting on moss-covered stone steps, knees drawn to his chest, silent beneath the swirling snow, like a lifeless statue.

He walked past, then turned back.

He stopped before his own bleak and painful memories.

The umbrella in his hand tilted toward the boy he used to be.

2.

Jiang Hui adopted him.

He gave the boy a new name, keeping the original host's surname: Zhao Xi.

Xi means bright and radiant.

He completed his tasks step by step, and in his spare time, raised his younger self.

He helped him deal with everything he couldn't manage, and gave him trust, support, family, and love.

Everything he himself had never had.

He let the boy bask in love and grow up, little by little.

On the tenth anniversary of Zhao Xi's adoption, the day Zhao Xi turned twenty, Jiang Hui was destined to return.

As if sensing something, Zhao Xi asked him:

Could you stay?

Jiang Hui smiled and shook his head.

He firmly refused.

No.

Why not?

Why did Zhao Xi get to have everything,

while he had nothing?

An unbalanced relationship was bound to end someday.

Jiang Hui didn't want to reveal his ugly envy and resentment in front of the other "him" from the past.

Rescuing someone was wonderful, but Zhao Xi was ultimately not Jiang Hui.

He still couldn't save himself.

3.

Jiang Hui returned to his own world.

For many years after that, he was alone.

Until a newcomer in the industry appeared.

Dressed in a neat, well-fitting suit, he politely offered Jiang Hui a business card.

But in his eyes was a long-buried, ardent and yearning love, carefully kept secret.

"Senior, my name is Zhao Xi."

[You hate that no one loves you.]

[This time, let me be the one to love you.]

Reader's Guide:

1. One-on-one, happy ending, younger love interest, younger love interest, younger love interest.

2. Narcissistic BL, no blood relation, and the adoptee and adoptive parent aren't even registered in the same household. They travel between each other's timelines. Logic is out the window. Neither character has a perfect personality, and the top is seriously love-struck [pay attention to this].

3. Fictional setting. Written to satisfy my own cravings. If it's not for you, don't read it.

Note from 2024.3.12.

My next danmei novel is a top-perspective story, The Crown Prince's Formation Record.

Blurb:

Shen Yi stayed up all night reading a novel, then dozed off on the subway the next morning.

When he opened his eyes, he had arrived in the novel's Great Qian dynasty.

He was the hapless Prince Li, who lost his mother as a child, was frail in his youth, and later got caught up in the struggle for power between the male lead and the other princes, dying suddenly as a result.

At this point, Prince Li was just an eight-year-old runt.

Frailer than a reed, and bullied by everyone.

Right now, a eunuch from the Cold Palace was publicly humiliating and mocking him over a single meal.

A nightmare from the start.

But what else could he do?

Shen Yi accepted his fate, raised his fist, and punched the eunuch nearest to him.

It was fine.

He might not be good at anything else, but he knew how to stay alive. Making it to the end of the story shouldn't be a problem.

But after he threw that punch, the eunuch ran off, and a timid voice suddenly sounded from inside his body.

"Thank you."

Shen Yi: "?"

He asked, "Who are you?"

"My name is Jiang Si."

Shen Yi: "?"

Wasn't that Prince Li's name?

So he wasn't the chosen transmigrator...

He'd transmigrated here to be Prince Li's bodyguard?!

Shen Yi never expected that this transmigration would take him from the age of eight to twenty-eight, from an unloved prince in the Cold Palace to the crown prince, second only to the emperor and above all others. He had walked every step of the way beside Jiang Si.

All the way to the final chapter.

Eight-pack abs. Tough and never short of words. All-around male college student

vs.

Quiet, pitiful sweetheart. Sweet on the outside, dark underneath. Sickly beauty who coughs every few steps.

"The Things That Happened Between Me and My Second Personality."

"You have to raise your husband from a young age (thumbs up)."

Reader's Guide:

1. Top-perspective, one-on-one, happy ending.

2. A sort of narcissistic BL. The top travels back and forth between the modern and ancient worlds.
