Not Raising Fish, Do Not Disturb

A story about a self-indulgent playboy who falls for himself.

Rumor has it that Chi Huo, the Ghost Lord, enjoys keeping a harem of admirers. The cultivation world is full of men he's toyed with.

From his personal corpse puppet to the aloof head of a prestigious sect, they've all loved him.

One day, the playboy Chi Huo's luck runs out.

The men he'd toyed with band together to kill him, grinding his bones to dust. A generation's greatest playboy falls.

After death, Chi Huo's self-awareness awakens. He discovers he's the playboy villain in a danmei novel. What he once thought was romance was merely a fate forced upon him.

In the eyes of the Heavenly Dao, a playboy is nothing more than a fish, destined to end in ashes and oblivion.

Later, he is reborn a hundred years in the past as a junior sword cultivator, and meets his former self just as he's about to pursue his first fish.

Older Chi Huo: Let that fish go.

Younger Chi Huo: I can let him go, but you have to stay.

Older Chi Huo grins. “Kid, I've already used up all your tricks for seducing men.”

In his second life, Chi Huo intends to fill in the sea himself for the version of him from a hundred years ago.

Cultivation ranks: Qi Refining → Foundation Establishment → Golden Core → Nascent Soul → Spirit Transformation → Body Integration → Mahayana → Tribulation Transcendence.

A few things to know:

1. The playboy isn't really a heartless womanizer. He's had plenty of exes, but there's a reason for that.

2. After being reborn, Older Chi Huo becomes a bit of a heartthrob, with plenty of romantic rivals.

3. Narcissism, self-love, and loving no one but yourself.

4. Low-magic cultivation, strange tales of ghosts and gods, and mountains of original worldbuilding. There's basically no cultivation progression; the plot is all about romance.

Getting the Wrong Script When I Transmigrated, by Yuan Buliujiu

Gu Tang has spent over twenty years single and alone because he's a homebody. He thinks about falling in love every day.

One day, the God of Transmigration comes to him out of the blue. “What kind of transmigration story do you like?”

Gu Tang: I want to be powerful and rich, with a harem. I want everyone to love me, full-on Gary Stu style, but at least two or three people. And preferably a love-rival showdown. If the targets are too easy to win over, I won't even bother. Finally, romance alone is boring, so throw in some schemes and intrigue.

The God of Transmigration carefully writes it all down in a little notebook, and then...

Gu Tang transmigrates into the crown prince of the Great Liang dynasty. He really is powerful and rich, but the very next day his father is forced from the throne by a general.

Gu Tang survives, but the general marries him as if he were a princess, and Gu Tang becomes part of the harem.

Now that he's in the harem, the Imperial Guard's commander swears he'll rescue Gu Tang from the palace and roam the world with him. Meanwhile, a neighboring khan shows up with a marriage contract, insisting on fighting the new emperor for his wife...

Gu Tang looks up at the sky and howls, “God, did you send me to the wrong set with the wrong script?”

In his previous life, the great general Xie Mingzheng guarded the nation's borders, risked his life time and again, and earned many glorious victories. To repay Prince Ning for recognizing his talent, he went to the capital to clear Prince Ning's name in a treason case, only to give the emperor an excuse to kill him.

After a brutal death, Xie Mingzheng is consumed by resentment. He is reborn at a time when everything can still be put right. Having seen through the emperor's heart, the general decisively chooses another way to get justice for himself and Prince Ning.

He simply cuts down the emperor and seizes the throne.

Xie Mingzheng plans for every eventuality, but never expects a cheerful fool to steal his heart.

“Gu Tang, please wait for me for ten years. Once my duties are done, I'll go anywhere you want and do anything you want.”

Gu Tang: “Don't make this so tragic. Are you coming to my place tonight, or am I going to yours?”

Theme: Everything may be fate, but my life is mine to command
