Pretending to Be a Beta in a Dog-Blood Novel

As the frail eldest daughter of the Li family, Lishu had limited psychic ability and was seen by everyone as a useless flower in a greenhouse.

But only Lishu knew that she was a beta cannon-fodder character in a melodramatic novel, destined to be treated as a family pawn, married off for an alliance, and die young.

Even if she escaped that fate for a while, a gruesome cannon-fodder ending still awaited her.

Until one day, she heard a voice:

"Congratulations, Host. You have successfully bonded with the System. You can change your fate by winning over the villain group.

"Please select your initial mission:

"1. The android 'Elf' is being sold at that filthy slum marketplace. Why not try to find him and win him over?

"2. Every night, the vines on the back hill grow wildly for no apparent reason. Find a way through the clingy, eerie vines and rescue the mysterious creature hiding deep within.

"3. Your upperclassman seems to be a runaway from the Snake Clan, and has suffered terribly for it. Why not offer him some comfort at the right moment?"

Lishu, a cannon-fodder character who had diligently spent over a decade being sick, clenched her fist. "Is there finally hope for me?"

But...

Which of these three outrageous missions has anything to do with the word "initial"?

The System thought it had jumped to the perfect Host, only to watch helplessly as the missions sprinted wildly in the opposite direction.

"Wait, you're supposed to win him over, not tame him!"

"You're supposed to rescue him, not hold your favor over him and make him work like a pack animal!"

"You're supposed to comfort him, not knock out his venomous fangs! Enough! I said enough!"
