My Main Job Is Lord, but I'm Also a Part-Time Deity [Worldbuilding]

Infrastructure Building + Savior + Farming + Secret Identity + Delusions

Dongfang Changming unexpectedly dropped dead, only to wake up transmigrated to another world where people worshipped the gods. He had become a tyrannical lord guilty of every crime imaginable, and for some reason, he was bound to a God System.

God System: [You have less than three days to live. Pretend to be a god and gather the people's faith to gain divine power and life points!]

Having been targeted for assassination again and again because of his predecessor's many crimes, Dongfang Changming fell into deep thought. Looks like he'll have to assume a secret identity.

Roland is a rich and fertile land, but its ruler is a brutal lord.

The lord levies exorbitant taxes, burns and loots, leaving the land littered with corpses and filled with cries of misery.

With nowhere left to turn, the people begin praying to the ancient gods, but the gods never answer.

Just as despair takes hold, a temple suddenly appears before them.

The temple radiates divine light, protected by a barrier that repels all attacks.

The god dwelling within opens his eyes. His ethereal voice seems to drift down from the heavens as he listens to the people's prayers.

The people prostrate themselves, weeping tears of blood as they beg the god to slay their wicked lord and overthrow his tyranny.

Dongfang Changming, the lord himself, pretending to be a god: "..."

He's sweating bullets.

When word spreads that a god has appeared, 90% of Roland's people scoff, dismissing it as a trick of an evil god.

That is, until the tyrannical Lord of Roland abruptly undergoes a bizarre change of heart, claiming that a god has touched him and that he has become the god's emissary.

The people of Roland: What scheme is he up to now?

But the lord really does start lowering taxes and improving the people's lives:

While people in other territories are mired in war, struggling to survive, the people of Roland follow their lord in a frenzy of reclaiming fields and planting crops.

While people in other territories are buffeted by storms and left without homes, the people of Roland follow their lord in a frenzy of claiming land, building houses, and expanding their farms.

While people in other territories survive on grass roots, the people of Roland follow their lord in a frenzy of frying, braising, and cooking up lavish feasts.

The people of other territories are green with envy. The people of Roland smile faintly: It's all thanks to the god and our lord.

The people of other territories: That's it, we're done! We want to join Roland too!

The god and the lord grow more and more famous, and countless people become believers. As Dongfang Changming receives their faith, his divine power grows stronger and stronger.

He begins using his divine power to improve their quality of life: building teleportation arrays to shorten travel times, creating factories with greater production efficiency, and turning abandoned stone mines into gold mines.

With full bellies and warm clothes, and no longer plagued by war, the human race weeps with joy as their happiness soars. Their great god and lord really have saved everything!

Having gained supreme divine power and a long life, Dongfang Changming discreetly conceals his secret identity and smiles with satisfaction.
