(Naruto) The Secret Tale of Menma, Sasori, and More

The first time I saw the real face of Sasori of the Red Sands in Naruto, I was deeply struck by how a boy could be so beautiful. His beauty was as forceful as his cruelty, as murderous as his impatience.

In Granny Chiyo's memories, the young Sasori was a considerate, gentle, softhearted child. He guessed from his grandmother's evasions that his parents had died in the line of duty, and stopped waiting for them. Instead, he quietly made his first pair of puppets, "Father" and "Mother," so they could sleep with him, play with him, and talk with him.

In the end, Sasori also died at the hands of "Father" and "Mother," killed by his own grandmother.

Granny Chiyo said that he had actually seen it coming, but did not dodge. Perhaps he only wanted to return to his parents' embrace.

Though he died at the age of thirty-five, his appearance frozen at fifteen, Sasori was still a child longing for his parents right up to the end.

Setting aside the cold name "Sasori of the Red Sands," he must have had an ordinary surname, a commonplace surname. Without the devastation of war, without the shackles of "Sasori of the Red Sands," and sheltered by his grandmother and parents, he would have grown up happy and carefree.

Let's call him Menzuo Xie, the image of "Sasori of the Red Sands" returning to his true self in my mind, a Sasori born from writing the derivative work "Flower Fan Journey (Naruto: Sasuke and Sakura)." Menzuo Xie.

The ending has already been decided, like a calendar page that can never be turned back. The bloody storms of the old days in the shinobi world have been smoothed over by time into the peaceful era after the Fourth Shinobi World War...

Since I can't change anything, all I can do is use my clumsy writing to enrich his short life, preserving it in words as another form of eternal art.

Let's call it The Secret Tale of Menzuo Xie.

Theme: The personal legend of Sasori of the Red Sands.
