Online Romance: The Antarctic Penguin Miss Who Got the Male Lead's Script by Mistake

Prologue

I officially cut ties with him on the evening of October 17, 2021. I had planned to wait until a month later to write this and record this ridiculous, painful online crush, which would at least have made it a full 33 days. At first, I was confident that time could heal anything. Surely, after a month or so, I would feel a little better and find it easier to write. But my condition has taken a sharp turn for the worse lately, and I don't think I can put it off any longer. Maybe it'll be better if I finish sooner and put it behind me sooner...

Mention 33 days, and I imagine the movie 33 Days After the Breakup will spring to mind for many readers. Indeed, I guess I... No, I can't even call it a breakup! I carefully looked the word up in the dictionary. It means, "A devoted person being abandoned by the person they love." But in my case, I never even got as far as being in a relationship before being miserably rejected again and again! So after thinking it over, I decided this title was more accurate: Online Romance: Miss Antarctic Penguin, Who Got the Male Lead's Script by Mistake.

Miss Antarctic Penguin is me, and he is the corresponding Mr. Polar Bear.

In reality, whether you look at the vast distance between us or the huge differences in our outlook on life and personalities, we were always destined to be creatures who could never share the same space. Just like an Antarctic penguin and a polar bear, these two fundamentally incompatible species could only be forced together by building a zoo that defied the laws of nature.

Theme: This is a commemorative piece by the third-rate female writer Siyue Miao, after her first-ever failed attempt at dating a guy.
