Qiu Qiu, a socially anxious shut-in, wakes up one day as the unwanted son of a wealthy family.

His father doesn't care for him, and his mother doesn't love him. He is banished to a remote place and left to fend for himself. With no one to look after him, the only person he gets close to is the new neighbor who just moved in across the hall.

His neighbor is aloof and dignified, domineering, abstinent, and a man of few words. Just looking at him is enough to make people keep their distance.

Qiu Qiu decides to get along with him and build a harmonious neighborly relationship.

But one day, Qiu Qiu discovers traces of someone else in his tiny apartment.

Fresh bouquets replaced regularly and glittering gifts on the table,

A tangible, sticky, obsessive gaze in the darkness,

Low, breathy sounds echoing beside him all night long...

Frightened and angry, Qiu Qiu thinks it over carefully, then finally works up the courage to knock on his neighbor's door.

"Excuse me, can I move in with you?"

Unable to help clinging to his neighbor, the shy Qiu Qiu feels guilty about it. He indulges him in everything and does his best to take care of him, soft and sweet as a little wife.

Luckily, his neighbor is proper and self-controlled, and a man of few words. He's busy with work and rarely home, and he always stocks the fridge with all kinds of ingredients and snacks. Little by little, Qiu Qiu lets down his guard.

He sleeps well and eats his fill every day, doesn't have to socialize, and has grown even closer to his neighbor.

Qiu Qiu: "Wow, I'm so happy!"

This is how a socially anxious person should live!

Until an accident leads Qiu Qiu into a room covered with photos of himself. There, he sees dried-up bouquets piled in a corner, along with gifts whose colors faded long ago.

The door opens, then closes again. The aloof, abstinent man sheds his disguise, revealing his greedy, crazed true face: that of a monster.

Raven-black wings seal off the doorway. The monster's cold, vicious slit pupils fix on the tasty prey who has walked step by step into his trap.

"I've found you, Qiu Qiu."

"?!"

Rumor has it that the dragon is hideous and savage, fond of hiding deep in a damp, icy cave and gulping down living people as snacks.

Shen Nian thinks he's going to die, and curls up trembling in the gloomy cave.

But things start getting a little strange.

Like the fresh fruit and sweet dew that appear out of nowhere.

The dry branches laid over him on cold, damp nights.

The bright eyes watching him from the shadows, cautious yet sparkling with curiosity...

At last, Shen Nian, who has been treated like a pet, works up the courage to reach a little paw into the darkness...

The evil dragon of legend, with its blue face and fangs, turns out to be a flawless, fair-skinned young man. When Shen Nian reaches out a curious paw to touch his horns, the young man turns bright red.

Great~ He looks even easier to fool than me.

To survive, Shen Nian turns into a sweet little kitty.

He begs for cuddles, kisses, and bedtime stories, making the legendary evil dragon obediently circle around him every day.

Finally, Shen Nian gets his chance and makes a quick getaway.

After leaving the dragon, Shen Nian flaunts his pretty face and does whatever he pleases, living it up to the fullest.

Until he runs into Nan Zhao again.

In a dim alley, the quiet, obedient boy from before tilts his head, his expression obsessive and unhinged.

"Nian Nian, aren't you coming home?"

"?! QAQ"

Shen Nian looks at him in a panic, ready to soothe the dragon like he did before.

But before he can finish, he's forcibly taken back to the dragon's lair.

Blue-black wings blot out the sky. The corrupted dragon's cool fingertips trace the side of Shen Nian's fair neck, his voice gentle yet icy.

"Nian Nian is a little liar."
