Synopsis:

Although Ye Xia was born into a wealthy family, he had few friends growing up. The reason was that he was a chubby boy who stuttered.

The friends in his social circle only hung out with him because of Gu Zhenxian.

Ye Xia followed Gu Zhenxian around from childhood. Everyone knew Gu Zhenxian had a little shadow trailing behind him.

At sixteen, Gu Zhenxian agreed to date him, on the condition that Ye Xia lose weight until he was down to 130 pounds.

At eighteen, Ye Xia discovered that Gu Zhenxian was cheating on him. He gained the weight back.

At 160 pounds, he stayed home for three months. The only time he went out was after the breakup, when Gu Zhenxian asked him to return the necklace he'd given him.

Ye Xia bundled himself up before going out. When he saw the two of them dining together, he threw the necklace into Gu Zhenxian's arms and ran off as fast as he could.

Gu Zhenxian pulled the necklace away from his eyes, but for a moment he couldn't make out who that figure was, looking as though he weighed only a little over 110 pounds.

To treat his psychological issues and stutter, Ye Xia moved to the old family home.

He ran back and forth in the courtyard and played singles tennis every day, until he smashed his neighbor's window.

When he went over to apologize, he discovered that his neighbor had a face seven or eight parts similar to Gu Zhenxian's, but an even more imposing and icy presence.

His neighbor was called Gu Suisan. Seeing Ye Xia unable to speak and only able to gesture, Gu Suisan thought he was a little mute. His initial pity for Ye Xia gradually turned into a whole series of devoted, fatherly affections.

Gu Suisan kept the little stutterer by his side. He encouraged him to read the dictionary and joined him for weight-loss meals. Whenever Ye Xia managed to say a whole word, Gu Suisan would open his mouth and kiss him.

"Ye Xia, take this gift. It's nothing, I just want to be friends with you."

"Ye Xia, I bought concert tickets, first row. Let's go together."

Gu Zhenxian thought that maybe he could still compete with his eldest brother, after all, Ye Xia had loved him so much before...
