The Art of Slacking Off in the World of Detective Conan

Sanqianyuan Xiyan is an utterly ordinary college girl and second-rate writer, a textbook modern-day slacker. She doesn't have occasional bursts of ambition, just an ongoing commitment to mooching off life until she dies.

...Then the System crashed into her life, and she discovered that she was actually a manga character, a total nobody who would die in a plot-mandated death three months from now. The only way to cling to life was to get popularity points through blablabla.

For example, adopting a secret identity, stirring up trouble, or making readers cry.

Xiyan: Sounds pretty good.

System: Mm-hmm.

Xiyan: But I refuse.

System: Great, welcome aboard... Wait, what?!

Xiyan: Thanks, but no thanks. I have no brains, no people skills, and no combat ability, so I have no chance of staying alive. Besides, I never really wanted to live that badly. No need to wait for the plot. I'll send out the outline for the book I'm working on, write down my bank card PIN, and kill myself.

System: Don't do anything rash!!!

What kind of life would someone have if she were the little sister of the strongest sorcerer, the Tenth's childhood friend, and the other half of the top killer, all at once?

She's struggling to survive.

Please, again and again, time after time, without end, a thousand times, ten thousand times, without hesitation, save yourself from the trials and tribulations of this world.

·Reader's Guide·

#A messy mishmash of timelines, storylines, and identities. Potential triggers are made clear.

#This isn't a power fantasy. Readers who've seen my other works should know I simply can't write those.

#Maybe this is really a story about self-redemption? The way you strive to save yourself is so radiant that others will naturally want to reach out to you, too.

#The System's role is a mystery. It's somewhat useful... and there's a little something extra mixed in beyond what's mentioned in the blurb.

Theme: Don't worry about what other people think. The first person whose choices deserve respect is you.
