CP: Soukoku. Chuuya has very little screen time early on.
Gojo, Geto, and Dazai are platonic; Geto, Gojo, and Shoko are platonic.
The story is told entirely from Dazai's perspective.
Assume that Gojo often has dreams that give him vague memories of parts of the future.
"Make a deal with me. You'll gain some things and lose some things."
[Blurb]
"Is meaning really that important?" The young Six Eyes prodigy rested his chin on his hand. His brilliant, boundless sky-blue eyes seemed almost too otherworldly to belong to this world.
The pale boy in bandages sat on a cliff's edge, as if he might leap off at any moment and become a bird that would never fall.
He said, "It's very important. We need to know what we're living for."
"The choices we make all have meaning."
In the dream, that person watched him with a gaze both gentle and cold.
Then left him without looking back.
What does it mean to be the strongest?
On the road to the technical college, the white-haired boy had his chin pressed to the ground, a conspicuous bruise on his face. His future partner, a black-haired boy, covered his nose with one hand, warm blood running between his fingers. Both of them were covered in bruises.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" His voice was tinged with anger.
Sunlight filtered through the leaves, scattering spots of light across the ground.
"Nice to meet you. You can call me Satoru." The boy's sky-blue eyes reflected his image with startling clarity.
"We'll stand against the world."
"Until death rots us both away."
Bind him with responsibility, wear him down with loneliness.
Let him die, or be reborn.
In a repulsive village, the dragonfly, with its noble ideals, once again pulled the girl behind him and looked at the twisted faces of the villagers. He reached out--
"Why not kill me too?" A pale boy who had suddenly appeared stopped him.
"I have no cursed energy. I'm not a jujutsu sorcerer either."
"Please kill me. Prove your ideals, and grant my wish."
The snow-white bandages fluttered away in the wind, revealing the boy's lifeless eyes.
"You're the strongest, after all. The strongest should burn themselves out in solitude." The boy smiled without a trace of emotion.
[I'll carve the ceaseless cicada song of that summer onto your gravestone.]

Dazai felt himself being embraced. Then he heard his bones break again.
He thought that beautiful flowers would bloom where the bones had broken.
[Do you want me to save you?]
[You bastard, Dazai?]
At the very end, just before the world fell silent, there was a faint voice.
