The 101st Time Clearing the Detective RPG

[Check out my new story, Turning My Life Around After Entering a Comic! It's an original comic transmigration story. Take a look if you're interested!]

[The story is complete! Thank you for being with me all the way. Sending you a heart! If there's a bonus chapter you'd like to read, let me know in the comments, babies. qaq]

You are a test subject.

You're on the run, fleeing with evidence you gathered from the laboratory.

Some people want to kill you. Others want to protect you.

Your mission is to find the Red team operating in secret in Beika City, hand over the evidence, and testify against the Black team in court.

Before that, to evade the pursuers waiting in the shadows, you have to live like an ordinary person...

And stay alive!!!

*

You happened to come across a new RPG game called Detective Survival.

The title alone was exciting. Then you read the description, and with a click, you bought the escape game and took it home.

Now the game begins!

[First Playthrough] The Mute

You had just escaped, and a passing curly-haired cop took you in because you couldn't speak.

Then you both died.

In the final second before the explosion, the curly-haired officer watched helplessly as you lunged toward him. You both went up in a burst of fireworks.

Only the evidence remained, hidden in the shadows, waiting for someone to find and read it.

Achievement unlocked: [Success That Never Came]

[Second Playthrough] The One Without Taste

You ended up on the streets again. To evade your pursuers, you dressed as a maid and applied for a server job at Café Poirot.

Though you couldn't taste the food, your lovely looks and warm, sunny manner made you a beautiful sight wherever you went.

Until one day, you discovered by chance that your boss was the very person who had been hunting you all along!

With a serious expression, you entrusted the evidence you'd saved to the detective agency next door.

Bang!

Before your boss could act, you quietly died. You wanted your death to conceal where the evidence had gone.

Achievement unlocked: [So Close, Yet So Far]

[Third Playthrough] The One Seeking Death

The pursuer's footsteps drew closer outside your door. Just before you were caught, you took poison of your own accord.

Fortunately, you didn't die. You became smaller. Later, several police academy students even adopted you together. Among them were the familiar curly-haired cop and your familiar boss.

Later still... you watched with your own eyes as everyone died.

"..."

Achievement unlocked: [The Dawn Only You Could Live to See]

You're going to die of rage!

Come on, who wants a bad ending?

The more setbacks you faced, the harder you fought. You poured everything into the game!

At last, in the final playthrough, you took the witness stand and recited the testimony you'd been preparing for who knows how many playthroughs.

Just as you were about to beat the game, a bullet from nowhere suddenly pierced your chest.

The achievement window popped up: [The Dawn You Alone Couldn't See]

You couldn't take it anymore. Cursing, you threw the game down and collapsed onto your bed. Thinking about it, you couldn't help letting out a long sigh:

Why is it so hard to get a happy ending!!!

Ding-dong.

Just then, your doorbell rang.

1. Not counting saves, there are four playthroughs in total. Happy ending. Your fellow countrywoman doesn't lie. The pairing is Matsuda. (A not-so-spoilery spoiler: Matsuda is in every playthrough, though his role in the second is unusual.)

2. There will probably be lots of chat comments. Chapters with a large number of them will be marked. I'll be fixing typos often. qaq

3. I'm just letting loose and having fun, so please go easy on me. orz Comments are welcome, but please don't mention other people's stories in the comments, since that might offend them. orz And please don't mention me in other people's comment sections, thank you!

4. Note for the first playthrough:

Qing Si can't speak in this playthrough. Anything he says is either spoken on his behalf or produced using synthesized voice, like text-to-speech. Basically, it's all done with a bit of technology. Of course, the voice can be adjusted.

For the sake of the plot, I'll use regular quotation marks for this later on. Just wanted to let you know.

Theme: Success is a flower that blooms among countless failures.
