Sleeping to the Sound of Rain

The setting sun drifts into Huangpu, and a girl in peach pink sits beside the window,

craning her neck to look, longing for someone to return.

Dark clouds settle over the shimmering river, while drums and gongs thunder from the other bank.

Why grieve over the hatred of home and country, when all is futile?

A mountain, a journey; a river, a journey; someone like a figure from a dream.

Wind, night after night; snow, night after night. No such sounds in my homeland.

Previous life: bad ending.

This life: happy ending.

Short, updates when inspiration strikes.

Yu Yu first met Zhou Yan on a night when torrential rain poured down.

He casually handed her an umbrella and even thanked her.

Only later did Yu Yu learn he was Lin'an University's newest campus heartthrob.

The second time she saw him, it was raining again.

He took a cardboard box from her hands and said coolly, "Hold my umbrella."

Yu Yu tried to return the umbrella, only to discover that Zhou Yan seemed to like Tao Qianyi, an older student.

Yu Yu thought, maybe I should just give up.

Who knew Zhou Yan would block her outside her dormitory? "Why did you block me?"

Later, Yu Yu learned that she had first met Zhou Yan way back in her first year of high school.
