Oh No, I Can't Hide My Urge to Kill Him

Students at Qiancheng No. 1 High School noticed that Jiang Zhou, the top student in the senior class, seemed to have been having terrible luck lately. He got hit by a basketball in gym class, turned in his exam early only to be given the wrong test paper and have to take the exam again, and got chased and bitten by a wild boar on his way to school.

They wondered why he was having such bad luck!

He looked at his classmate Jiang Miao. She lowered her head, afraid to meet his eyes.

Jiang Miao hated Jiang Zhou. They had been in the same class from elementary school through high school. Jiang Zhou was an excellent student and a role model to everyone. Ever since he moved into her neighborhood, Jiang's mom had repeated the same thing over and over: "Look at Jiang Zhou..."

Living in Jiang Zhou's shadow all this time made Jiang Miao miserable.

Jiang Miao dreamed of becoming a novelist. She wrote a novel called Reborn: Becoming the Top Student in High School. In it, there was an insignificant side character named Jiang Zhou. He was an excellent student, but terribly unlucky. His existence did nothing to advance the plot; Jiang Miao had simply put in a little personal spite.

She never expected that one day all those misfortunes would actually befall Jiang Zhou.

One day, while Jiang Miao was halfway through her homework, she suddenly heard dogs barking. From the sound of it, they were coming from Jiang Zhou's building. Soon, every dog in the neighborhood was barking. Jiang's mom started searching online to see what it meant when all the dogs in a neighborhood barked at once.

Jiang Miao's phone rang. She answered, and Jiang Zhou's voice came through: "Come downstairs, or I'll stay right outside your building. Then neither of us will get any homework done..."
