Something's Off About My Dao Companion

Shen Tang was the only Taotie in the world. She worked hard and lived diligently. One day, after working overtime, she flew through the rain at night for the sake of a roast chicken ten kilometers away, only to be struck by lightning and sent into a novel she had just finished reading.

In the book, Shen Tang was the betrothed Dao companion of the great villain, the crown prince of the demon clan. His daily routine consisted of brutally mistreating his subordinates, his spirit beasts, innocent passersby, and members of the protagonist’s group, while constantly causing trouble for the heroes. His bloody methods made everyone tremble at the mention of his name.

Shen Tang arrived in the story and looked at a subordinate who was barely alive after being punished by the male lead: ...

That wild chicken looks so plump. Can I eat it once it dies?

Subordinate: ???

Villain: ???

Don’t go around eating random things!

Later, when Shen Tang and the great villain had a heart-to-heart, he decided to be honest with his future partner.

He sat upright at the table, a little nervous. “Ask me anything you want to know.”

Shen Tang: “Anything at all?”

The great villain: “Of course.”

Shen Tang: “I heard you’re a phoenix, so you’re a bird...”

She trailed off, her eyes drifting downward. “If you’re a bird, does that mean you don’t have...”

The great villain: ???

He clapped a hand over Shen Tang’s mouth, and a thought suddenly came to him:

Is there something wrong with my Dao companion?!
