Dating Ushijima

★Ushijima is a blockhead, and he says I am too?!★ ★Coming soon: "I'm Livestreaming in the Ultraman Universe" Blurb: (I) In her first year of high school, Haruna Arisu was in the same class as Ushijima. In her third year, Haruna Arisu ended up in the same class as Ushijima again. In her first year, Haruna Arisu's heart fluttered. She secretly fell for Ushijima, who was amazing at volleyball, super tall, and really handsome. By her third year, Haruna Arisu had locked her heart away and focused on studying. She never wanted to spend another second having a crush on Ushijima. She never expected Ushijima to talk with her about schoolwork, do classroom duty alongside her, and even greet her whenever they ran into each other on the road. It might sound romantic, but Haruna Arisu wasn't especially happy about it. She wasn't going to read too much into things, because she'd realized one fact back in her first year: Ushijima was a blockhead! Every interaction between Ushijima and her was purely friendly, with not a trace of anything more. Only when Ushijima cornered her against a wall did Haruna Arisu realize something was off. Did Ushijima like her? "Arisu, you're so slow on the uptake." Hearing Wakatoshi Ushijima say that, Haruna Arisu protested sadly, "I don't want to hear that from a blockhead!" (II) Ushijima had liked Haruna Arisu for a long time. He'd gradually figured out how to get along with Arisu. Whether it was about school or anything else, he made a point of talking to her more, but Arisu seemed a little slow on the uptake, and never realized why he was talking to her. It wasn't until he cornered her against a wall that she finally caught on. Ushijima was certain that Arisu really was slow on the uptake. Faced with his comment, Arisu blushed and said a blockhead like him had no right to say that. A blockhead? Ushijima was a little confused by the nickname. He asked the volleyball team, and all his teammates shook their heads in unison. "Wakatoshi is really serious, not a blockhead at all." His teammate Tendou said this as he handed Ushijima a manga. Ushijima looked at the cover, which was nothing like JUMP, and didn't understand what Tendou meant. Tendou said, "Arisu probably likes this kind of stuff." Ushijima understood. So that's what it was. He immediately went to talk to Arisu about manga. Haruna Arisu looked at the manga, which seemed completely unlike Ushijima, and at his serious expression right then, and couldn't help covering her face. Was she dreaming? Reading Guide: 1. A sweet romance. 2. Maybe third-person narration. 3. Probably a short story. 4. Character design image from a commissioned drawing by bs. Coming soon: "After Becoming a Tomie Fan, I Found There Were More of Her" [One-person-only fans rejoice (not really)] [See below the blurb for details.] Blurb: Kaito Haruna is an ordinary high school student. One day, a livestream System binds itself to him and starts streaming his high school life. The first thing he does on stream is recommend the incredibly popular Kawakami Tomie, a beautiful, haughty girl with a sharp tongue. Kawakami Tomie is many people's one-and-only favorite, and she's his too. As someone who loves beautiful faces, he plans to be her devoted fan until he graduates from high school. But he never expected Kawakami Tomie to be targeted by a serial killer and meet a tragic end! Looking at a photo from Tomie's funeral, Kaito Haruna transfers schools with tears in his eyes, leaving the place where he'd been so unhappy. But he never imagined he'd meet a boy who looked exactly like Tomie, and was also named Tomie. Great! As a guy who loves beautiful faces, he'll keep being a devoted fan and stick to his plan. But before long, that one died too. Unwilling to believe it, Haruna ran into another Tomie at the hospital. Before he could even officially become a fan, Tomie ended up being brought into the hospital the very next day as a lifeless corpse. Haruna began to question reality. "What's going on? Is Kawakami always so unlucky?" [Instead of wondering why she's so unlucky, shouldn't you be shocked that there are so many people named Kawakami Tomie?] [There's no need to be shocked. There are plenty of beautiful people in the world. It's a blessing the world has bestowed on them.] [Well, there's no point thinking about that now. They're all dead.] [Don't be sad. If you can't be a fan of Kawakami Tomie, you can be a fan of someone else.] [Can you name anyone more beautiful than Tomie?] Nobody in the livestream chat could come up with an example. In the end, the world took back these beautiful masterpieces, leaving everyone to face life's harsh reality. They only had to endure that harsh reality for a few days before a new Tomie appeared. Kaito Haruna: "Could my devotion as a fan have moved the gods?" Kawakami Tomie, who heard him, didn't let him off easy. "You call that being a fan?" Kaito Haruna: "I've always been a fan of Kawakami Tomie. From that perspective, I'm a loyal one-person-only fan." [One fan, one death. Haruna's taste is consistent, and so is Tomie's death.] [Is Haruna the Grim Reaper? Should we tell Kawakami Tomie to stay away from him?] After discovering the secrets behind Tomie's deaths and rebirths, Kaito Haruna grew timid. "I don't think I can keep being a Tomie fan." [One fan, one death. One death, a whole bunch reborn. SOS!] [Discovering a new Tomie anytime, anywhere?] Kawakami Tomie: "Am I really that easy to get over?" Kaito Haruna shook his head. No. There were way too many Tomies now. The one-person-only fan's rejoicing mode had switched to one-person-only fan's exhaustion mode. Today, he still wanted to quit being a fan! * Kawakami Tomie had no shortage of people who liked him, and Kaito Haruna was only one of them. Whenever Tomie saw the look in his eyes, he felt as if he were being challenged. That's because Kaito Haruna's eyes held none of the crazed adoration or the sense that he could love no one else, yet he claimed that Tomie was his favorite. And the facts bore that out. Kaito Haruna had been a one-person-only fan of countless Kawakami Tomies, and after becoming a fan, his eyes remained just as they had been. It annoyed Kawakami Tomie to no end. Kaito Haruna's affection was utterly shallow. "Actually, I was only going to be a Tomie fan until I graduated from high school." "Now I want to quit being your fan early." Kaito Haruna's words made Kawakami Tomie even angrier. "Am I really that easy to get over?"
