Xie Changqing had rendered outstanding service, leading a million soldiers into battle with a sword in hand. On the day he returned, the emperor and all the civil and military officials came out to welcome him. Then he was summoned to the Hall of Mental Cultivation.

Chu Tian'ao: "Minister Xie, a ruler and his subjects are a ruler and his subjects. If I tell you to do something, you'll agree, won't you?"

Xie Changqing knelt before the young emperor. "Yes. I will obey Your Majesty's command."

In his heart: Is the emperor finally going to kill me?

"Then you certainly won't refuse to spend the night with me, Minister Xie~"

Xie Changqing resentfully agreed to the emperor's unreasonable demands, one after another.

When he came out, Xie Changqing's face was bright red with anger. Damn emperor! He was done with this. Whoever wanted to be a general could have the job!

After he started to lie flat, he gradually noticed that his stomach was getting round. How had that happened?

Everyone in the capital knew that General Xie had fallen into the emperor's trap. He had barely returned to the capital before his tiger tally was taken away and he was imprisoned in the palace. They thought he was being subjected to cruel punishment, never realizing that the emperor cherished General Xie above all else and couldn't bear to let him suffer the slightest grievance.

One day, Xie Changqing packed his belongings, grabbed the reins, and rode off, hoping to escape the palace where he was being held. But before he could even get out of the city gates, he was surrounded by a dense crowd of black-clad guards. The emperor rode up to him, his expression grim, pulled him into his arms, and held him close. "General Xie, you mustn't leave the palace on your own like this again. I'm very much looking forward to having you spend the night with me." He whispered something explicit into Xie Changqing's ear, making his legs go weak with fear.

One day, the emperor felt General Xie's rounded belly and gave him a serious look. "It feels different. Have you gotten fat?"

Xie Changqing: I want to cry even more now.

1. When they were young, Xie Changqing took good care of the future emperor. He helped him win the throne and later served him with all his heart, spending six years at war until the Dalu invaders were completely driven out.

2. As a child, Chu Tian'ao followed Xie Changqing everywhere, always calling, "Brother Xie this" and "Brother Xie that."

3. As an adult, the emperor was deeply in love with Xie Changqing. When Xie Changqing was away on a distant campaign, the emperor wrote him a letter confessing his feelings. Xie Changqing was so alarmed that he stopped replying and deliberately kept his distance.

4. The emperor only allows people to accept his love. Refusing is not an option.
