After Being Hated Across the Internet and Leaving the Industry, I Became a Hit Through Rental Income

Top investor Lu Zhirou wakes up in a book as a wealthy family's heiress, who has the same name as her.

Good news: She's the real heiress, and everything in the family belongs to her.

Bad news: The Lu family has gone bankrupt. She and her mother are all they have left, and their fortune has dwindled to just a few dozen buildings.

In the original plot, she goes on to squander those buildings, drive her mother to her death, bully the heroine who started from nothing, and then kill herself after the hero takes revenge...

Lu Zhirou: Are you stupid? Those are both good things.

A few dozen buildings aren't enough? Are you trying to reach the heavens?

She decides to leave showbiz to avoid the original heroine, sorts the buildings into categories, and rents them all out.

It's just that her dad didn't have the best eye for investments. Why are there so many different types of properties, scattered all over the place?

She rents a small house in an urban village to a homeless little boy she found by the roadside.

She rents ground-floor shops on busy streets at low prices to a charity that rescues stray animals.

She rents a seaside villa to a group of washed-up idols with dreams of becoming a boy band.

She rents a high-end office building to a failed entrepreneur she instantly clicks with and feels a kindred spirit toward.

She even rents out the loft of the apartment she lives in to a down-and-out poet.

She has plenty of property, anyway. She might as well do some good by renting these places out cheaply!

But unexpectedly, after leaving showbiz, she becomes hugely famous and wealthy.

The little boy she found turns out to be the runaway son of the richest man in the country. She raised him into the top scorer on the college entrance exam, and his father personally visits to thank her and gives her a blank check.

The washed-up idols shoot to fame overnight and become top-tier stars. They all leave their original agency, call her big sis, and declare that they only want her as their manager.

The down-and-out poet turns out to be a literary giant trying out life in the real world. Inspired by her, he writes a masterpiece that wins the Nobel Prize and says outright that she is his muse...

The stray animal charity becomes a huge hit, and she is named one of the year's most inspiring people in Huaguo, appearing frequently in newspapers and on TV.

And the failed entrepreneur she knew turns out to be the original heroine, now a financial tycoon who's going to ring the bell on Wall Street next week. She's even listed Lu Zhirou as a founder in her investment prospectus...

Asked about all this by a reporter, Lu Zhirou says, "At first, I just wanted to give them a home. Who knew the entertainment industry was actually a whole planet?"

Theme: I only wanted to give everyone a home
