The Possessive General's Pretend-Obedient Little Madman

S-rank Guide Ruan Qiu was the well-behaved child in everyone’s eyes, and the most useful tool in the Ruan family’s hands.

Everyone said he must have done something terrible in a past life to catch the eye of the Empire’s crippled general. They couldn’t imagine how much he would suffer in the years to come.

No one knew that a dangerous beast was caged inside Ruan Qiu’s heart, repressed and violent, watching everyone through blood-red eyes from a prison where no light could reach.

The first time he saw Chu Yanjing, Ruan Qiu knew.

They were the same kind of person.

In the fifth year after Chu Yanjing’s untimely death, Ruan Qiu set fire to the Ruan family’s foundations and perished in the blaze.

But when he opened his eyes again, he had returned to the day he first met Chu Yanjing.

He wanted revenge. He wanted to stand atop the pyramid and trample everyone beneath his feet. Chu Yanjing was the perfect stepping stone.

Fortunately, Ruan Qiu thought, he knew better than anyone what the other man liked.

In Chu Yanjing’s eyes, Ruan Qiu was sweet and quiet. He was always gazing at him with soft, dewy eyes, looking at him with trust, his lips pressed together in a gentle smile.

Once, Chu Yanjing received an intelligence report that the high-risk fugitive Jellyfish had possibly resurfaced, and went to intercept them.

Instead, he unexpectedly saw the obedient, well-behaved Ruan Qiu wearing a hood, gripping someone by the hair and slamming their head hard against a wall. Blood splashed across his delicate, fair face and ran along his jaw to his slender neck, beautiful and cruel.

Ruan Qiu watched the person kneel and beg for mercy without a trace of expression. His skin was sickly pale. He tilted his head and laughed hoarsely.

“Doctor, when I begged you for mercy, did you ever let me go?”

He tossed the person aside like a piece of trash, then turned around.

And saw Chu Yanjing behind him.

Note: Sentinel-and-Guide setting, with a ten-year age gap.

The begging for mercy is not in that kind of situation, so please don’t get the wrong idea. The gong and shou only have eyes for each other.
