Senior Brother Picks Up a Kid, Master Gets in Trouble

Synopsis:

The first time Shen Guangchen saw Xuan Ji, he was being bullied by a group of outer sect disciples. The little guy was crouched in the middle, saying nothing as the others kicked and punched him.

Shen Guangchen: Good grief, how pitiful. I'd better step in.

After punishing the bullies, Shen Guangchen asked, "You look unfamiliar. I don't think I've seen you before."

The poor little thing lowered his head. "Senior Brother Yuan Zhi picked me up."

Shen Guangchen: That's my eldest disciple! He picked someone up and just left him here, like he was responsible for the killing but not the cleanup (not really). How pitiful. I'd better step in.

After bringing Xuan Ji back to the mountain, Shen Guangchen was very pleased with his decision.

When he wanted a bath, someone drew the water. When he was hungry, someone cooked. When he was thirsty, someone made tea. When he was tired, someone rubbed his back.

Even the clothes he tossed around were folded neatly.

Picking up a kid was just like bringing home a little wife.

Shen Guangchen: You're so good at looking after people. Your future cultivation partner is going to adore you.

Xuan Ji: I only look after Master.

Shen Guangchen: Haha, don't joke around.

Xuan Ji: You'll find out whether I'm joking or not, Master.

Later, when the wolf cub he'd raised from childhood pinned Shen Guangchen to the bed so he couldn't move, he finally realized...

Damn, he was serious.

As the senior brother of Zhuzhi Peak in the Moon-Treading Immortal Sect, Yuan Zhi lived up to his name: he was utterly devoted to cultivation, always either in seclusion or on his way to seclusion.

When he emerged from another long seclusion, he discovered that something joyful had happened in the sect: red decorations hung everywhere.

He grabbed a passing disciple. "Is there some celebration?"

Seeing who it was, the disciple congratulated him. "Congratulations, Senior Brother! Immortal Lord Shen has found a cultivation partner!"

Yuan Zhi: "..."

He rushed to Zhuzhi Peak and saw his master's partner cuddling on his master's lap. His heart sank.

Damn, why does that kid look so familiar?!

Isn't that the child I picked up!!!
