I lost my job.
On the morning of the second day after losing my job, I suddenly awakened and realized that this incredibly real and vast world I lived in was actually a game, and I was an ordinary player in it.
There was no way to quit the game. For now, I had gained just one new ability:
Once a day, I could connect to the game forums in the real world and search for and read one discussion thread.
The career gameplay had hurt me too deeply, so I decided to try the romance conquest gameplay instead.
The guide said that if you went to a particular place at a particular time, you could have a chance encounter with an NPC generated specifically for the romance gameplay.
Just like the male and female leads in every romance game, they had perfect characterizations and unwavering devotion. As long as you successfully conquered them, you could enjoy a sweet, happy relationship that would never end in betrayal.
I traveled by interstellar spaceship to the designated location to "run into" a conquerable NPC. Sure enough, I met a young man with a handsome face, a superb figure, a cool and aloof air, and a frail constitution. He was even more good-looking than I had imagined.
The only slight drawback was that he looked about eighteen or nineteen, and had lost his memory. He only remembered that his name was Ji Shi. He couldn't recall anything else about his identity, or even whether he was still in school.
Without hesitation, I took him home, then sent him to repeat his senior year of high school.
Just kidding. I'm a person with principles. Conquering him or not wasn't important. What mattered was not interfering with a young person's studies.
It wasn't until later that I learned he had another name: Ji Wanchuan.
It was also only later that I learned that when high-ranking dragons were seriously injured, they reverted to a semi-mature form.
And it was only later still that I learned that on the day I met Ji Shi, I had actually boarded the wrong spaceship.
This novel is also known as:

*Note: It's unemployment, not amnesia.
* A first-person game, told from a first-person perspective.
* Set in an imagined interstellar future, with an alien planetary and star-region system. The main species are humans who migrated from Earth several hundred years ago, and dragons who have always lived in that star region.
"To behold all living beings is to call it a world."
The original title was "To Call It a World," but it wasn't very clear, so I added a subtitle.
Theme: I considered the relationship between future technological development and human society, and imagined the effects of technologies such as artificial intelligence and the metaverse on reality. I also considered how cultural and entertainment works such as games affect people's lives.
