The Eastern Palace

I'll write this again when my writing improves. This might be the only court-intrigue and power-struggle story I ever write.

The main couple isn't quite how I imagined them. Something feels off, and I can't even feel anything for them.

I still can't put myself in the bottom's shoes. I don't know what he wants. People can give up and let things slide, but his resignation feels so vague and unreal.

Three years ago, Li Zhiyuan returned from the battlefield on the northern frontier. On his way south to the southern border, he passed through the capital but was not allowed to return home.

At the hundred-day celebration for the Ninth Princess, Qin An made a scene and asked to marry her. He only meant to stand up for a childhood confidant.

Unexpectedly, the emperor agreed.

Later, the empire fell. Qin An fled everywhere with a little baby in his arms, until he reached his confidant's home.

Now, here's the question: Li Zhiyuan pulled the baby's pacifier out of its mouth. "Is the baby yours or mine?"

Serving the emperor is like walking beside a tiger. Everyone fears Li Zhiyuan, but Qin An thinks he's genuinely kind, just like the young man who chatted and laughed with him by the campfire all those years ago.

The people under their command: "Um..."

They wouldn't dare say a word.

Scheming emperor gong vs. bottom of unknown temperament

1v1, happy ending

The Eastern Palace can refer to either the crown prince or the empress.

A word of warning: This story was conceived a long time ago, and the author's idea of what's fun has drifted away from the blurb. The initial concept really was like this, but it changed later.

The author is a complete beginner, both at reading and writing novels.
