After Squandering the Family Fortune, the Ancestor Rose from the Coffin

Description [Complete. The protagonist is Su Weisheng. Between him and the top-tier star, it’s a grandfather-grandson relationship of “kind” grandpa and “filial” grandson.] Su Weisheng was the family’s high priest. His only hobby was collecting shiny things, so he personally decorated even the burial chamber and coffin where he slept with jewels. Several hundred years later, he realized his treasures had gone missing and flew into a rage, bursting out of his coffin and fixing his murderous gaze on the reckless little thieves. The two young men stared at him in horror. One of them, a young man who bore a slight resemblance to him, dropped to his knees with a thump. “Great-grandfather, spare me!!!” Su Weisheng: “…” Damn it, an unfilial descendant! It turned out that after he fell asleep, the generations of the Su family had grown progressively more useless. Whenever they couldn’t make ends meet, they would visit the ancestral hall to worship him, sell off a few candlesticks and fans, and praise how wise, kind, and generous he had been to leave them these inheritances. This generation’s unfilial descendant was named Su Ran. A controversial top-tier star in the entertainment industry, he was arrogant and notorious. After falling out with his agency, he was now penniless, so he’d come to worship his “elderly benefactor.” Looking at the dark, empty ancestral hall, the high priest’s fists clenched. It was time to teach these unfilial descendants how to support their great-grandfather. 2 #The Side Only Family Gets to See is an online livestream variety show about family bonds. The production team spent a fortune inviting several famous family pairings from the entertainment industry: a veteran film star and his same-sex partner, a wealthy investor and his son, an award-winning producer and his house cat, and finally… Top-tier star Su Ran and his great-grandfather. Netizens: ??? Had the production team gone mad, or was the top-tier star crazy? Before the show aired, viewers reacted: Who the hell wants to watch some wrinkly old man? How are they even including a grandpa-grandson pairing? Has this top-tier star gone crazy trying to cash in? After the show aired, the camera moved away from the top-tier star amid a flood of viewers’ sarcastic comments, only to land on another young man, strikingly beautiful and cool in demeanor. Su Ran (pausing briefly): “Let me introduce you. This is my great-grandfather.” The audience was stunned. #BelieveItOrNot, I returned to the entertainment industry to earn money to buy my great-grandfather an island and build him a new tomb. But that wasn’t even the most outrageous part. This bizarre family variety show was also being livestreamed in the underworld. A bunch of bored ghosts waiting to be reincarnated stared blankly at the broadcast. Was this some new underworld event? 3 After the show was livestreamed, Su Weisheng made the bizarre discovery that he could not only see comments online, but comments from the underworld as well. So when a Versailles-style film star confidently told the camera that his parents had been in love for decades, and that was why he believed in love, a comment from the underworld drifted by: Great-grandfather, could you pass on a message to my son? Tell him to move my grave. I want a divorce. I want to raise a cute young boyfriend in the underworld. Later, the film star said, “I saw a house collapse from a distance. When I went over, I found out it was my ancestral grave that had collapsed…” When an award-winning screenwriter talked about how much effort he’d put into researching history for a drama, another comment drifted past: This is hilarious. Does he know the high priest in his script is based on the great-grandfather right in front of him? He even turned him into a lovesick idiot. I’m cringing so hard I could dig out a three-bedroom apartment. Later, the award-winning screenwriter said, “Don’t remind me. Thank you all for digging me out a mansion with your feet.” When a famous anti-fan account stirred up trouble online and smeared Su Weisheng, the long-dead mother of its owner gave him a hard slap in a dream that night: Who the hell told you to badmouth my idol in the human world? Did you forget that your mother is the high priest’s number-one fan? The anti-fan account owner: !!! Oh my god! [Main couple: Yuan Le x Su Weisheng. A rabid troublemaker in public and a lovesick fool in private, top x a commanding dog-trainer queen, bottom] [Spoilers and content warnings in the discussion thread] Theme: People should rely on themselves.
